KILL THE KATS
KILL THE KATS!
Hook 'em Horns ]-
this should be exciting.
a blow out win on the road would sure make a statement. if AJ has a stellar shooting night, which he is due, we should really take care of business.
Hook 'em. Kill the Pussies. Kats that is.
please god
for the love of burnt orange and hook 'em horns please let my horns whoop the shit outta them kats. Living in this hellhole is bad enough, much less having to listen to the kansas version of the agros rant and rave. I believe what ever I've done to upset you, were even w/ the two football loses. So lord postpone world hunger, peace, etc. and let the horns destroy the purple agros tonight....
AMEN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wow
Our defensive efficiency has really sky rocketed of late. Now we're #31.

stop fouling and calling timeouts please..........

The wildcats fans
ARE DOING IT WRONG!
They are sawing, but with more of a cross-cut motion.
viva is right, they are the agros of the wheatfields!
Eddie Hightower is a ref in this game.
I hear that's bad news.
GJ with nice D on Beasley.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:14 PM CST reply actions
Terrific Start
Foul on Beasley. DJ agressive early. Connor with a block. Not getting killed on the glass.
Whew
Beasley called for charge. Probably a good call.
Still, you don't realize how good Beasley is until he plays your team. He's much quicker than I realized.
Gary
is SOOOOOO much more comfortable going to his left shoulder. He can't attack the basket with his right yet.
damnit
stop the damn turnovers horns. NICE steal by DJ
Less stupid, please.
Calm down, guys, we've already given up two TO's.
Johnson
has nice post moves, but it seems like when he's on the left elbow, he always wants to drive right, even if the defender is leaning right like this case.
He could've made a great move by just driving left. Instead he turns the ball over.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions
Good call
He loves that move to the middle of the paint. Teams will scout that. Needs to drop step back to the baseline.
Wants to go to
his right hand. He hasn't developed the left yet. Makes the same move regardless of where he is on the court.
is anyone else AMAZED
that Rick put Connor on beasley (at least when he's down low)? and he's actually doing a pretty good job?
I think he's our best defender
Not nearly quick enough for Beasley, but he disrupts better than anyone I've ever seen at Texas. So long as we have help for him when Beasley beats Connor with quickness, I love the idea of putting Connor on him - our best shot blocker/disrupter.
not totally
I kinda figured he'd go away from putting D-James on him, at least initially, to keep James from getting in foul trouble. If Beasley starts lighting up Conner or Gary, I could see him giving Damion some time on him, too.
Fine start
Horns are looking good. AJ or Day-mo need to knock down a shot. Beasley is gonna score 30+; and that's ok. Just stop the rest of them.
Like!
KSU's guards will kill them before Beasley can touch the ball. Need more pressure. DJ, stop that now.
Gorgeous
AJ Abrams with a terrific look there. He could've jacked one there. Finds Damion for the better shot.
Our transition game
is keeping us in this.
That and like two blocks on Beasley.
Fouls mounting
We're doing a great job of making the right Wildcats shoot outside shots. They're doing what they do on the offensive glass, though. We gotta clear the boards.
11-10 Texas, under 12
KSU getting too many offensive rebounds and second looks. Our transition D has been pretty good though.
Offense looks fine but may struggle now that AJ and Connor are both out with foul trouble. Time for Wingman to step up again.
Great defensive possession by Alexis!
First deflects the ball from Beasley, then corrals the board.

Kat Fans R Pussies
Anything that doesn't go their way they yelp and whine like all baby pussy-kats do.
It's the BIG 12!
It's Division-One BASKETBALL!
You wanna whine?
Go play inter-murals, brother!
All Visiting Teams
Should bring warm milk in baby bottles to give to K State fans in the stands. God they cry a lot.
Terrible scouting
there. Johnson finally goes to his right shoulder and has to shoot a fade away. Walker fouls. Nice job, Bill.
Martin
is kind of like an NBA coach. He can yell loudly but it doesn't mater: the players aren't listening.
Nice DJ.
Augustin?
Out of the shooting slump, into a passing one?
Kafka is displeased.
DJ outplaying everyone again
Hopefully the nation is watching this game. If DJ plays awesome, he might get some POY consideration as well. The OU coach thinks he should get some POY love.

Quote
Ron Franklin re: Beasley, "this is as unlucky as I have seen him..."
BZ had it right. D is working!
We are getting some calls!
It's like we're playing at home.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:34 PM CST reply actions
Boooooooo
At this point i don't even know what they're booing. Though these refs are getting a bit whistle happy.
by DisplacedTexan on Feb 25, 2008 8:36 PM CST up reply actions
I thought Bob Huggins was their coach. Who's that
guy?
I think
thats a common reaction by home fans that havent seen the kind of D that we play.
Plz rebound miss FTs
Cardinal sin. We just gave away two points to Beasley.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:37 PM CST reply actions
Rebounding has been poor today
I know Beasley is good but constantly getting second looks and pushing us around down low.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions
Can't wait to see...
... how many records Beasley's on pace to shatter.
18-15 Texas, under 8 timeout
Beasley is starting to keep every rebound on both ends. Not a good sign.
Connor, AJ, and Gary all with 2 fouls now.
one man team
And it's keeping K-state in the game so far. The game is being called very closely now, too, which doesn't bode well for our foul-trouble tendencies.
okay, new goal:
get to halftime without giving up the lead and hope that we can stay out of foul trouble in the second half.
OT: wow wtf?
The Spurs only scored five points in the 1st quarter against the Hawks.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:40 PM CST reply actions
8 fouls on us 6 on them
About right considering they are going inside more. But as you listen to the crowd keep that in mind. You would think it is 15 on them and 2 on us.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:41 PM CST reply actions
Big 3 by James
And then a big block by Wingman.. of course drawing boos.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:42 PM CST reply actions
Totally GT
But whatever. GT is too difficult to enforce, unless it's blatant cheating (scooping the ball out of the bucket, etc.), IMO.
LOL what is up with us
getting away with goaltending calls haha
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:42 PM CST reply actions
WANG CHUNG
Freakin sweet block! Who cares if it was goaltending, send a freakin message!
woah
Have all goaltending rules been eliminated? I swear that's the third time in recent games we've blocked a shot that was clearly coming down....
Yeah, nice goaltending

Beasley has big hands
My wife just but took off her headphones when they discussed this. I feel inadequate.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:44 PM CST reply actions
No offense to midgets...
thats up there with face rape
Will we awake to an Imus like firestorm from
the little people community?
well....
at least the KSU crowd cares about the game, even if they don't really understand the rules of basketball.
too many turnovers....
One way we make up for our average (or worse) shooting is by not turning the ball over....
We have a way of correcting the turnovers at half
Would love to see a split but I think we turn the ball over a lot less inthe second half.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:48 PM CST up reply actions
James going for 3 point play
Nice finish and way to run the floor as Fran points out.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:47 PM CST reply actions
Nice job
pushing the ball. Kansas State likes to run but isn't doing a good job getting back on D. Nice finish by James.
if bill walker stays in foul trouble
K-state has no chance. beasley can't win by himself and the rest of the team appears to be downright terrible.
Pulon can play
Or however you spell it. Still has a lot of Freshman in him but he has flashes and can get hot.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:49 PM CST up reply actions
He can,
but nobody else on our team seems willing or able to step up. Clent Stewart is in a terrible shooting slump, and Blake Young is only hot-and-cold to begin with.
Unless Beasley scores 60 tonight, we're in big trouble.
by TB on Feb 25, 2008 8:50 PM CST up reply actions
Well
you gotta like the way it is shaping up.
KState is shooting like 1%, and we are shooting way, way better than that. Like almost 19%.
If this keeps up we can win this game.
by MBAHick on Feb 25, 2008 8:50 PM CST reply actions
25-21 Texas, under four
Given our foul trouble, this has been a very good half in a tough environment. Beasley is going off but Walker isn't and they are only 1/9 from three.
Beasley is good
In case you did not know this. Imagine him playing in Seatle or Okie City next year.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:52 PM CST up reply actions
Imagine if Portland
wins the lottery. You take that team and possibly add Beasley and Oden.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:53 PM CST up reply actions
Stop missing free throws, please
You can't win on the road without knocking down the easy ones.
Bizarre first half
This has seemed totally disjointed and awkward. Not necessarily sloppy, just off. And we need to hit FTs.
Controlled by refs
21 fouls and counting and amazingly only 15 free throws which tells me lots of ticky tack stuff
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 8:58 PM CST up reply actions
KSU Bizarre.
Like Fat-Boy QB throwing for tendy-billion yards.
DJ makes good
on the very next position with assist to Wangmene.
We are now shooting 20%.
by MBAHick on Feb 25, 2008 8:59 PM CST reply actions
I gotta point out that its ambidextrous not
ambidextrious. No "i" in there. Once was okay, but twice makes him sound silly.
I'm glad...
...somebody else noticed this.

Tied up
See you boys in the second. This might be a heavy drinking second half.
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 9:00 PM CST reply actions
eh
considering we played without connor, aj and gary for most of the first half, not too shabby. if those guys can stay out of foul trouble in the second half, i think we'll be fine.
Good Half, 30 all
Beasley goes nuts but K State can't shoot from the outside, get back in transition D, or hold on to the ball. They did do a great job on the off glass though.
Texas survives a half with AJ and Connor on the bench. Good minutes from Wingman and Gary. Texas had a few too many turnovers and missed too many FTs but DJ is saving us so far. Damion James is forcing a little. Needs to settle down and attack the basket.
Can anyone remember
a crowd bitching and moaning about every single call? They love to whine in Manhattan.
Too much of James
Feel there are too many forced and contested shots by James and missed free throws among 'em all.
by texfite on Feb 25, 2008 9:03 PM CST reply actions
Holly Rowe (the poor thing)
called it right, "Coach Martin, none of your players except Beasley are worth a shit..."
MAKE FT'S!
Make them and we are sitting on a four or five point lead right now.
Stat of the half: UT is 4/9 from the line
What happened to story of the game?
Get some fouls on that monster.
Chum got it almost exacty right in his first half
prediction.
I hope to God his second half prediction is spot on as well.
But with less...
... of that horrid Wildcat playing the guitar.
sorry but
Stacy Dales just isnt a good fit. Her analysis is sooo bland, and Digger is practically cringing everytime she opens her mouth. I'm no chauvinist but please...make it stop...its so awkward
TJ Ford
Had 16-5-7 tonight. First decent game since getting crushed by Horford. Good to see it.

james
He's looking horrible....this is the kind of crap that got him sitting the bench after the aggies game. Don't have to be perfect, but he's had a couple of just horrid passes.
37-34 KSU, under 16
Missed free throws and turnovers at an alarming rate are not the keys to winning on the road.
Like the box and one and it has kept the ball out of Beasley's hands. We must take care of the ball on the other end though.
That's it.
I'm making my girlfriend watch the game with me, now.
Look out Beasley, here comes Texas!
Actually, it's Durant's force field
Suddenly everyone is hot as long as he is talking.
On the floor?
How is that a foul on the floor? Wangmene on the putback. Ref says on the floor. Hmmmm?
Need a bucket here. Down five.
Not a gf, but there's this guy named Connor
except he keeps cheating and landing himself on the bench.

Missed seeing last game. Wingman seems more controlled, a stronger presence in the game. Maybe it's KSU and the pace.

50 all, under 12
I repeat: I hate our 2-3 zone with Mason on the backline. KState coaches should be able to see this. We are so vulnerable over the top and on off rebounds.
AJ and Connor with some nice shooting to keep us in this.
Horns need to be poised and patient
Don't let it come down to a shot by Beasley. I don't like the ESPN faux competition.
I HATE
THIS CROWD. talked about the booing earlier but i just wanted to add my i hate K-State tag
by CarolinaLonghorn23 on Feb 25, 2008 9:40 PM CST reply actions
gary johnson would be great on the d-line
think of that motor, hands, and foot action
it'd be so damn great
I think he's a tight end playing forward
He kept his pivot foot I think.
Just shuffled the other one a bunch.
Has anyone else been hearing the crowd...
... they boo until they figure out what the call is, then they either keep booing or cheer. Sounds like it anyway.
57-52 Horns, under 8
Wangmene with a costly travel there. Had an easy two.
DJ really playing well and playing smart at the same time.
I'd like to see us go back to the box and one for a couple of possessions. If they miss a few threes, we could push the lead to 8 or 10.
Unfortunate

very predatory of them.

atchley has become
a phenomenal defender. still not really quick, but he moves his feet well and uses his body rather than reaching with his hands.
Sweet
Cry and boo all you want. We are just longer. Great D by Connor. Fantastic job by DJ of pushing the action as KSU stood around and whined.
Three by AJ. Horns up 62-54 with 5 left.
Continuous
booing, do they have signs that light up in the gym that the fans watch to know when to boo, or do they just boo to boo?
They have a Wildcat playing a guitar
Not sure it is relevant but I felt this neded to be pointed out
by TexasWhitey on Feb 25, 2008 9:55 PM CST up reply actions
Sequence of the game
Ridiculous Statement
Beasley is a freak but is underutilized. His numbers would be even better with more competent guards or a smarter coach.
At least Beasley's Ambidextrious.
Sound familiar?
This sounds like Simmons last year. I agree but when a player is that good - others seems to be submissive to him or rely on him too much. I mean he has 27 and probably about 12. What more can he do?

Connor for three.
Texas outclassed, outcoached, and outhustled the Wildcats. Love it.

ATCH started the game strong and finished strong.
Did they just say Atch and NBA in the same sentence?
And the three was a real dagger in the heart.
Twelve is a good number.
