this should be exciting.
a blow out win on the road would sure make a statement. if AJ has a stellar shooting night, which he is due, we should really take care of business.
Hook 'em. Kill the Pussies. Kats that is.

please god
for the love of burnt orange and hook 'em horns please let my horns whoop the shit outta them kats. Living in this hellhole is bad enough, much less having to listen to the kansas version of the agros rant and rave. I believe what ever I've done to upset you, were even w/ the two football loses. So lord postpone world hunger, peace, etc. and let the horns destroy the purple agros tonight....

Wow
Our defensive efficiency has really sky rocketed of late. Now we're #31.

Yes
My comment from this week's TBR
I did find out our adjusted D was 78th on December 7th and our Offense was #1.
I see Adj D Rank 34 right now, but just about the same. Our offense has stayed at the top, and our defense just keeps getting better.
Love it.

Terrific Start
Foul on Beasley. DJ agressive early. Connor with a block. Not getting killed on the glass.
by awiggo on Feb 25, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Whew
Beasley called for charge. Probably a good call.
Still, you don't realize how good Beasley is until he plays your team. He's much quicker than I realized.

it's Ron and Fran calling the game. Craig Way is so far ahead of live TV I can't listen.

Gary

damnit
stop the damn turnovers horns. NICE steal by DJ
by vivalonghorns on Feb 25, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Less stupid, please.
Calm down, guys, we've already given up two TO's.
by Horn Brain on Feb 25, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Johnson
has nice post moves, but it seems like when he's on the left elbow, he always wants to drive right, even if the defender is leaning right like this case.
He could've made a great move by just driving left. Instead he turns the ball over.
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Good call
He loves that move to the middle of the paint. Teams will scout that. Needs to drop step back to the baseline.
by Peter Bean on Feb 25, 2008 8:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Wants to go to
his right hand. He hasn't developed the left yet. Makes the same move regardless of where he is on the court.

is anyone else AMAZED
that Rick put Connor on beasley (at least when he's down low)? and he's actually doing a pretty good job?
by billyzane on Feb 25, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Connor is a wall in the paint
by goingforthecorner on Feb 25, 2008 8:18 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think he's our best defender
Not nearly quick enough for Beasley, but he disrupts better than anyone I've ever seen at Texas. So long as we have help for him when Beasley beats Connor with quickness, I love the idea of putting Connor on him - our best shot blocker/disrupter.
by Peter Bean on Feb 25, 2008 8:18 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
not totally
I kinda figured he'd go away from putting D-James on him, at least initially, to keep James from getting in foul trouble. If Beasley starts lighting up Conner or Gary, I could see him giving Damion some time on him, too.
by junglerules on Feb 25, 2008 8:19 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
6-2 Horns, under 16
Beasley with an early foul is the story of the game so far.

More story of the game!
by Horn Brain on Feb 25, 2008 8:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Fine start
Horns are looking good. AJ or Day-mo need to knock down a shot. Beasley is gonna score 30+; and that's ok. Just stop the rest of them.

Crap
How many team fouls is that?
by Peter Bean on Feb 25, 2008 8:19 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
too many
...early turnovers. They're a good defensive team, but we can't try to force things.
by junglerules on Feb 25, 2008 8:20 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Like!
KSU's guards will kill them before Beasley can touch the ball. Need more pressure. DJ, stop that now.

AJ Abrams with a terrific look there. He could've jacked one there. Finds Damion for the better shot.

We're doing a great job of making the right Wildcats shoot outside shots. They're doing what they do on the offensive glass, though. We gotta clear the boards.

11-10 Texas, under 12
KSU getting too many offensive rebounds and second looks. Our transition D has been pretty good though.
Offense looks fine but may struggle now that AJ and Connor are both out with foul trouble. Time for Wingman to step up again.

Good Half, 30 all
Beasley goes nuts but K State can't shoot from the outside, get back in transition D, or hold on to the ball. They did do a great job on the off glass though.
Texas survives a half with AJ and Connor on the bench. Good minutes from Wingman and Gary. Texas had a few too many turnovers and missed too many FTs but DJ is saving us so far. Damion James is forcing a little. Needs to settle down and attack the basket.

37-34 KSU, under 16
Missed free throws and turnovers at an alarming rate are not the keys to winning on the road.
Like the box and one and it has kept the ball out of Beasley's hands. We must take care of the ball on the other end though.

WTF w/ FTs?!?
Does anyone else remember Shaq before he could shoot FTs and then they had those taco neck commercials and all of the sudden, Shaq was shown with his taco neck nailing FTs? I think we need to get our boys some tacos. I mean, I suck as basketball and I think my FT percentage is about on par with what the horns were shooting tonight from the line. But hey, it was an amazing victory and overall they played well. But Final 4s, Elite 8s, Sweet 16s are all won and lost from the line.
