Sherrod Harris
Cowgirls' diary mentioning Harris got me thinking--
I'm interested to know what people think will happen with him. Last August, he seemed like the front-runner, but then suffered the injury that pushed Chiles to the top. . .
Chiles clearly has a ton of athletic ability and can scare defenses, but Harris was considered a dual-threat QB, too. Plus, he's rumored to be a better passer, and has an extra year of practice.
Will he continue to ride the pine at UT? Transfer? Amaze everyone this spring with his skills?
? Thoughts ?

Correct me if I'm wrong..

I don't think so
I've heard grumbles here and there that one of them (Chiles or Harris) should or might transfer, but it has all been speculation based on circumstance---nothing from the source. I certainly do not recall anything more definite than that.

Sherrod Harris...
is a little taller and heavier than Chiles, and was initially touted as a quicker and smarter player, but I'm guessing by the fact that Chiles was getting playing time over the more experienced Harris all year long, that Chiles has just been blowing up in practice. Not to mention the fact that he won the offensive freshman of the year award. I do not envy the coaches for having to decide how to keep all the qbs happy with such a talented depth chart to choose from. I'd be pretty surprised to see him transfer because he's going to be entering his junior year in college (RS-SO) meaning that if he transfers after the year he'll have to forgo one year, getting his first action as a second year senior in college (RS-SR).

Harris
I met Sherrod earlier this year and he seemed to indicate that he would stay here and get his degree regardless of football. He is an international business major and is a very academically driven individual.

True
This is true. He is actually here for academics, not playing time. He took all AP classes in high school, and is just riding that scholarship to get his degree. He is not going to transfer. He's a nice guy who just plays basketball at Gregory and hangs out at Wendy's every night.

When it came to the union....Chick Fil-a > Wendy's

there's a Wendy's in Jester now, too. I don't recommend it.

i agree
The guy is one of the nicest guys ive ever met football player or not. He doesnt act the same way most "star" athletes do and is very genuine. He seems really smart and looks like he just being at ut whether or not hes playing.I doubt he cares about furthering his career at football or anything like that.
