Anyone who doubts....
...the intensity of the student sections, or the students, needs to look at some of the photos from this slideshow.
I'm losing my mind in 4 and 7, but these are some good pictures...

im not doubting the student section
or any of the students that come to the games. i do, however, find myself constantly disappointed by the crowd at large. its like at the ksu football game this year when 3/4ths of the crowd disappeared because of a little rain. it wasnt the students who disappeared, but the entire seat sections reserved for middle-aged alumni who come to games as a precursor to an early evening stroll around campus.

More like a monsoon
I stayed in the stands, because a little water never hurt anyone, but I would not call that "a little rain". It was straight up pouring.

thats football
We're talking about crowds at hoops games. I think the 'date' factor and the fact that so many students go to football games 'just to go' has something to do with it.

Speaking as one middle-aged alum,
it was absolutely pouring and lightning. I stayed throughout, but gave my wife a pass who headed for the alumni center. Let's say she got a good head start.

Most students definitely stayed for K-State...
...and both me and my sister also had our cell phones destroyed by the rain.
It is 100% correct that most of the other fans left, but, if in ten years, I bring my little 2-year old girl to the game, I'm probably leaving too. The bigger concern is that it takes until the VERY end of the OSU and NU games this week to really get the basketball crowds rocking...
I don't think our crowds are necessarily as bad (or other crowds as good) as everyone says, but there's no questioning we are definitely behind the curve in getting 60 (or 40) minutes of effort from the general fanbase...

Drum
I blame it on the building. Although my seats (right next to txtwstr7) are great, most of the seats are pretty bad and not condusive to sell outs to rabid fans who are involved for every game. Txtwstr7, your group does a good job and that pom pom routine......
