Should be interesting

If things go like I think they will, we could see the third matchup between KU and Texas in as many years in the final on Sunday. A&M wont be at much of an advantage playing so late tonight with an early afternoon game tomorrow. Oklahoma just doesnt seem to match up well with the Horns and with so much on the line for the Jayhawks and Horns, I look for both to take care of business for another fun matchup.

Are we destined for 2 seed in Phoenix?

The latest Bracketology has us as a 2 seed in PHX and KU as a 2 seed in the South. What has to happen for us to replace Kansas? Is it just about beating them in the championship game or do we need other teams to lose?

Perhaps if Duke wins the ACC tournament, maybe they get the 2 seed in Charlotte, which could move KU to Detroit, moving Georgetown to Phoenix, which bumps us to the South? I have no idea how this stuff works.

s-curve seeding?

I'm sure part of it has to do with where Texas ends up on the S-curve, meaning if they end up as a 2 seed, are they the 5 overall team (best two seed) or 8 overall team (weakest two seed.)  So, if we are the best two seed and Memphis is judged the worst 1 seed, we'll both go in the South.  If Memphis is considered the best #1, you would think they wouldn't put Texas in the south, but the tourney directors say they don't project matchups, so they wouldn't project that Texas will advance to the sweet 16.

I guess it's just a big amalgam of relative seeding and geography.  Regardless, I'll be curious where we end up if ALL the top teams win their conference tourney, or if some win and some drop their conf. tourneys.
