Honestly, if other conferences can do it, I don't see why we don't make it work.
It means we aren't ending our tournament championship game hours before the brackets are announced, so the teams can be home and relaxed when the selections are announced.
I had a lot of fun watching the finals of several conference tournaments tonight.
With the selection being tomorrow, I think it kind of takes away from having the championship game on Sunday.
I think the only people who pay attention are the fans who have a team in those games.
I think if our tournament ended on Saturday, the selection committee would pay more than cursory attention to the championship game.
Of course, there is also the fact that an extra day would help avoid a situation like the SEC found themselves in today, where a natural disaster postponed play, and forced a team to play two games on the same day.
