texas Women a #8 seed
Y'all face Minnesota in the Greensboro region of the brackt, with first round games in Bridgeport, CT.

Problem is, you're tied to #1 overall seed Connecticut, so assuming you beat Minnesota, you won't be advancing to the Sweet 16.
Eight Big 12 teams made it in overall, so you had two teams in every single region.
Iowa State will be playing its first two games in Des Moines, IA (they'll lose in the second round to Rutgers).
A&M is a #2 seed, they start out in Baton Rouge, LA.
Assuming they win in the opening weekend, they face a potential matchup with Duke in the Sweet Sixteen, and (if they win that) Tennessee in the Elite Eight.
Oklahoma could end up facing Tennessee in the Sweet Sixteen.
It should be interesting.

Iowa State gets gift...
We had an equal Big 12 record, we owned the tiebreaker by virtue of beating ISU in Austin, both of us made it to the Big 12 semis and they get a 7 seed in Des Moines and we get an 8 seed in Bridgeport. HMMMMMM!
Oh well, it is good to be back in the tournament. This draw will be good experience for the team.

did y'all have a losing streak at some point in
the season?
My only guess is maybe they were looking at that when they made their decisions.
I used to think the way the men's teams were seeded in the brackets was really screwed up, then I actually paid attention to the women's brackets.
Rutgers being placed as a #2 seed to UConn (only blemish on UConn's record is a loss to Rutgers), LSU getting a virtual home ride to the Final Four (with two games in Baton Rouge, then two games in New Orleans), OU being put in the OKC region (they'll play for a chance for the Final Four at home if they make it to the Sweet Sixteen) and on and on and on.
I realize that the women's committee had a difficult job, b/c you have 8 teams from the Big East and 8 teams from the Big 12 that you need to seed and place, which means you're going to need to put two in each region to be balanced, but they still did it in a way that looks skewed.
UConn, in particular, got screwed, imo.

I don't understand...
why you keep lower-casing Texas. Is it just an unconscious force of habit, or are you purposely trying to get in a dig at the Longhorns every time you mention them? I'm not in the business of posting on Aggie message boards, but if I were, I wouldn't be going around posting a&m everywhere, unless I just happened to type in all lower-case.
Along those same lines, it's not "you won't be advancing to the Sweet 16." Assuming we beat Minnesota, it's very, very unlikely we'll beat the Huskies, particularly if the games are in Bridgeport, but it's not a fact that we won't be moving on. I realize it's a figure of speech, but when you bash Texas in every other sentence you write, I'll be pointing stuff like this out.
In any case, congrats to the Horns and the rest of the Big XII entrants.

You went further indepth than I did.
I still don't understand the fascination with posting stuff about Longhorn Athletics in a Longhorn forum when you claim to be a fan of the rival. It's like you're wearing a Bevo undershirt.

there are people on here that will discuss ladies
athletics
You have a contributor who analyzes women's volleyball, for pete's sake (not saying there is anything wrong with that, it is just very rare).
The vast majority of the forums I frequent, people don't care about women's athletics. This place is a rarity, so I post here.

He said the men wouldn't beat A&M

force of habit
If y'all beat UConn and make it to the Sweet Sixteen, you'll be the new George Mason.
Beating UConn is as likely as GMU's run.

I suspect as well.
I have a hunch that, deep down inside, beneath all those layers of sheep's-butt-purple and goose-step-fever, our old friend Beergut (as well as most Aggies) is one of the good guys. I have a theory that it involves a sort of expectation of failure that they acquire as youths, which creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that they will have to go to A&M instead of UT, and thus fall short of their dreams. That explains why some of them simply insist on putting down Texas with every word they say. They turn their self-loathing outward together and build the lie that they are happy. Truly, then, pity is the only emotion which we should reserve for these sad, lost people.

stranger things have happened to an 8 seed
I watched a 12 beat a 1, and an 11 beat a 3, etc. in the Big 12. You know you gotta plow through Tennessee, Conneticut, Rutger, LSU, Stanford, etc. to get to the final 4, so you may as well go after it.
