Crazy Like A Fox
Good article from Chip Brown in today's Dallas Morning News.
In yesterday's press conference, Barnes apologized to Razorback fans for his half-hearted threat to pull out of next year's contest if they didn't treat the Horns well in the regional this weekend.
As suspected by a few posters on this site earlier this week, Chip writes that there was some method to Barnes' presumed madness alleging that Barnes was trying to ensure that there'd be some "atmosphere" in the first round unlike what the Horns experienced last year in Spokane where most of the seats were empty and the arena, downright placid...Barnes' contention being that his players focus would be directly effected by their surroundings.
I also agree with Barnes' assertion that the Razorback fans were going to boo the Horns no matter what. And based on my own personal forays into Razorback country, I'd bet his adding fuel to the fire probably made things worse on those UT fans brave enough to venture over to Little Rock for the game more so than they did on his team. But again, it was never going to be a pleasure cruise for anyone "crazy" enough to wear burnt orange in Arkansas.
I'm sure we'll know if Barnes' was craze like a fox indeed around 2pm today. Let's hope so.

Damn arkies
I was stationed there in Little Rock for 5 years. I wore my Burnt Orange proudly. I hated life when they beat us in the Cotton Bowl in 99 And then when they beat us in 2002??? Anyways, all I remember for the next year was they were selling this DVD called Ambush in Austin. The next year I was walking in the mall and some lady stopped and looked at my Texas hat and shirt , and actually politely said, wow you are brave to be wearing that, I smiled and went about my way. Anyways, FORK that place.

They do some smart things
Like give my mom the outstanding advisor award and my dad the distinguished career award. I can assure you that both of them wear their burnt orange quite proudly, sometimes in meetings and sometimes in classrooms at the University of Arkansas.
