Texas beats Minnesota 72 to 55. Lady horns jumped to an early 15 - 5 lead and that was the end of it. Brittainey Raven had a great game with 19 points and 3 steals. Texas will play overall #1 Connecticut Tuesday 8PM CST. Very tough draw.

All 8 Big 12 teams won their first game. 1/4 of second round teams are from Big 12!

Turned it on during some homework, Lady Horns looked good. Nice to see their level of play hasn't dropped off from the last few weeks. And the Big 12 is kickin some serious ass. I don't think the conference brings home a championship this season, but having all 8 win the first round game is phenomenal.

Being left out of the tourny for two years and now we are in the second round! I call it a definite success for coach G and the ladies. Most importantly, the ladies program is on the right track with coach G.

Let's see what happens tomorrow!

definitely a successful season...

We had some growing pains during conference season but she didn't let them lay down and die and got them performing as well as this team can perform.
They are just fun to watch right now because they are hustling for everything.

I think by beating a #9 seed by 17 it says we were seeded too low. So there will be nothing bad about losing to #1 UConn on what will be basically their homecourt. This tournament appearance will be a stepping stone to a deeper run next year.

Maybe they'll pull off a "miracle"

I know that Coach G and the ladies are thankful to be in the tourney and onto the second round. They've worked very hard and seem to really be playing as a cohesive team. Give them a year or two and they'll be getting a share of the attention that Tennessee and UConn are getting this year. I have proudly supported them all year and will find a tv tomorrow night to support them again. Hook 'Em!

Over-rated Baylor falls to Pitt

The four remaining Big XII teams will likely be underdogs in their matches tonight.

Texas takes on the overall 1 seed UConn
Nebraska faces another 1 see - Maryland
Slumping OU takes on Notre Dame
KSU has probably the best chance against Louisville

The Aggies will likely be the last team standing in this year's tourney. They should beat Duke in the Sweet 16, but will probably fall to Tennessee in the Elite 8. Nice season for aTm.
