NCAA Alcohol Policy

I'll be attending the Houston regional and have just found out about the NCAA policy against serving alcohol at games.  This completely destroys my plan of getting trashed (especially for the Memphis-MSU game) and making a general ass out of myself....or does it?

Star-divide

I need your help BONers.  How can I get a beverage of my choice into Reliant this weekend?  Will they be emptying pockets?  Will there be metal detectors?  Body cavity searches?  I need some advice, or maybe someone else has already planned their attack.  Also, does anyone know what the policy if they discover you with alcohol once you're inside?  I don't really want to get kicked out, but I also don't want to be sober.

Texans game

I went to a Texans game and all they did was wand us and pat down the waist area (presumably looking for concealed firearms in a belt...or something).  A buddy of mine often sneaks a flask into Rockets games by wearing cowboy boots and sticking it in there.  That's my best recommendation for you.

Flask

I agree with the flask. Just make sure its plastic, so you don't set off the wands.

Is this NCAA policy just for the Tournament? I know the clubs, at least, in DKR serve during games and I thought the concession stands sold beer.

I have one and it got me through four Tx-Ou weekends.

my old roommate had one

Filled it with Beam before every game.  Unfortunately, they've suspended sales of the floppy flask, it says.

Floppy at Reliant

I'd recommend caution with that at Reliant, because at the Texans game I went to this fall, I distinctly remember being patted down around the waste.  The way it appears that thing is worn, it would be detected.

So if I had cargo shorts

And had something inside my lower pocket, which is down around my knee, would that get patted or would I be fine?

Cargos

The way they patted us down at the Texans game, you would be fine.  They focused on the waist/stomach area.

wearing instructions

You can wear it around you belly, or...ahem... under your pants. If you wear it under your pants, the pouring spout is right were your fly is. Its kind of gross, and it looks like you're peeing in your drink, but security never finds it. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices in the name of recreational drinking.

I always imagine...

... these really athletic-looking dudes with big ol' guts getting stopped by security until they stop some dude with a real gut and get sued.

Go boom, mothers. Please, just go boom.

Same thing for every game

Put a flask in your boots, just make sure you wear longer socks or bring band-aids, a full flask can ride your ankles pretty hard.
Buy coke, go to bathroom, empty flask, enjoy alcohol.

The risk

You can try to sneak something in. However, everything you spent on tickets and travel goes down the tubes if your caught. The best policy is to save it for the after game celebration.

Do they kick you out?

I have never heard of people getting their tickets taken, usually they just make them pour it out.

I doubt they kick people out

I've never seen it happen.  People try to sneak things onto major airlines all the time.  They wouldn't sacrifice losing a customer and take their tickets, then kick them out of the airport.
