IU Recruit allowed to explore options w/ TX on list

I'm going to keep this short and allow ya'll to head to the link to check it out for yourself.  But according to Fox Sports, Devin Ebanks, ranked No. 13 in the country by Scout.com, is considering Texas as one of the schools he'll attend.  He was allowed out of his letter-of-intent after Sampson was fired. My question is how does this affect our recruiting of other players, and do we have room for him?

Looks solid

He doesn't look 6'8" 185lbs though.  How can anyone weigh 25+lbs less than Durant when he was in college and only be 1" shorter?  KD was one of the skinniest college ball players I've ever seen.

Regardless, this guy's inside and out game reminds me of KD's skills.  I watched some of this video and was impressed.

I'm sure the competition wasn't that great, but he looks very athletic.  I hope he does visit.  I can't see someone that is seriously considering Texas turning it down if they come and check out the facilities.

Touche

So true.  I haven't ever looked up "lanky", but my guess is his picture would be there.

Ebanks

I have friends who go to IU and they all think he's going to Memphis.  If we miss out on both him and Tyreke Evans, then ouch.

Also

Supposedly Sampson's reputation of developing players' defensive games was a big factor in Ebanks going to IU.  Ebanks isn't the best defensive player, so I can definitely see Barnes appealing to him in that respect.

We're still in on a few players

Jeff Taylor and Wesley Witherspoon (both good but not 5 star caliber players) have been offered scholarships already, even though we only have one available that has already been accepted by J'Covan Brown, a 6'2" guard. We're also in the running for 5 star prospects Scotty Hopson, Tyreke Evans, and now Banks. I'm not sure quite how this works, but I suspect some players are waiting to see if a scholarship will open up at Texas due to DJ or DJ's leaving before they commit to another school. Our 2009 recruitment is looking very good too.
