Star-divide

So Texas has dropped from 5th to 9th due to the 3 point loss to Texas Tech over the weekend.

A fair place to put the Longhorns this week?
Too harsh? Thoughts?

Sour Grapes

I'm willing to bet a number of pollsters were anxious to go against the grain and put the Horns at the top of their poll if they took care of business in Lubbock, which would have all but secured the regular season championship.  Seeing as how they lost to Tech by 3, as close as it was, a lot of pollsters got pissed and knocked us down a bit.  However, I am surprised that Michigan State didnt move up more after the annihilation of Indiana yesterday.

Horizontalism is its own reward.

Bracketology

now has us as a 2 seed in the South(Houston) region.

Houston

That bracket on espn is possibly the best scenario for the horns. The best team we would meet before the elite 8 would be a wisconsin team we barely lost to...Although dealing with memphis to advance wouldnt be ideal, I think we really couldnt do much better (even as a 1 seed in some other locale)

Go Heels & Bruins?

Should Texas take care of business this week, it would be nice for UCLA to beat Stanford and UNC to beat Duke so that we may pass them in the last poll.  That would hopefully solidify a 2-seed, and hopefully in Houston.

Resume'

Well, this team still has wins against 2-4-6 or 3-4-5 depending on which poll you subscribe to.

The loss at Tech was heart-breaking, but that's what home court advantage is all about......which is why we need the Houston region.

Disclaimer: I may be wrong.

#2 Seed = Success

Good thing this isn't football and these polls don't matter. I think it's a little too harsh to drop four spots, but it doesn't make a difference. What is more important now is that if everything plays out, we're looking at a #2 seed in Houston. The Horns WILL be tournament ready-- I'm sure of it.

#9 ranking is funny

That's basically implying that we're not even worthy of being a 2 seed.

Can you live in that moment as best you can, with clear eyes, and love in your heart, with joy in your heart? If you can do that gentleman -- you're perfect.

Drop to be Expected

We lost to an unranked, 12-loss team.  I think we deserve to get dropped.  Do I think we're the 9th best team?  No way.  But every team that's lost this year has dropped 2 spots when the opponent is top 5-10, and anywhere from 3-8 spots for losses to lesser competition.  We're also the the highest ranked 5 loss team.

We're a very close #9

I'm surprised we're ranked behind Xavier, the Memphis of the North.  They've beaten some decent teams, but the A10 is not a powerhouse.  Xavier has a road game vs. St. Joseph's though that will not be easy.  Could be Texas' opportunity to regain some ground.  I would love to be top 5-6 again.  I think we deserve that.

Oddly enough...

Dick Vitale ranked us #1 this week.

Not intending to thread-jack, Brax

Did any of you guys see the TTU-KU game?

WTF? I just got in from dinner and saw 109-51 Jayhawks.

Box Score

Glad I tivoed it. Never a dull moment in the B12.

Life's nice when you have few fouls

and shoot nearly 60% from three-point and the field - and out rebound the opponent, 50-21.

Tech shot 29% overall, 5-23 (22%) from downtown. They were just bad.
