player arrests
player arrests on other teams
Am I the only one that is esctatic everyday when I look at foxsports. The reason I'm excited is not because I see players getting arrested and booted off of their respective teams, but because it's not our players and our team.. Lets just pray that that little problem is something that we don't have to worry about this year.
Do you guys think that Ken Rucker will have a positive effect on the players in his first year at his new position?

Rucker Following Through
I'm glad to see Rucker trying so hard with this and really following through with players. I hope he does this for all or most of the players.
Plus, he gets me free Danon Frusions! (If I'm in the room when he comes by)

Simkins?
Simkins is in Pflugerville or something, right?
When I was in school, I think that's where they sent the University's political prisoners.
I lived in a dorm with a bunch of guys that were not exactly "cool" or even "socially functional", and even we treated the guys who lived in Simkins like lepers.
Good luck out there.

That would have to be
the coolest job in the world. He makes low six figures for that, doesn't he? Not a bad way to make a living.

well...yes and no
On a very simple selfish kind of way as a Longhorns fan, YES, it's nice to see the Longhorns staying out of trouble. I think Rucker or any other kind of "tool" is always a good idea.
From a member of society perspective, while kids getting in trouble pretty much mirrors society, it's sad to see these kids ruin their lives. Yea, they may go on to be fine adults, but they are hurting themselves, teammates, family, potentially losing a scholarship, getting booted off the team, possibly getting a (serious) criminal record, hurting their professional chances....you could go on and on with the negatives.
Seems like the Gators and Hawkeyes have had a lot of troubles off the field with many getting booted off the team. Frustrating as a fan, but at the same time you hope they "see the error of their ways" and get turned around.

Don't count your chickens
I think we have already talked on this before, but lets hold off on the celebratory posts until August.
Also, the problems last season to me was more about perception than anything. When you have 100+ college students to look after you are going to have some problems. At least this year we are being proactive and if a problem does arise we can actively work to remedy the situation.
