Google Maps & Football Recruiting
Not a bad way to occupy one's self in the wilderness that is the off-season... God, I love Google Maps/Earth.
Though it hurts when you switch to the SEC and see two Tiger pins placed firmly in Houston.

Photoshop?
Why does it look like TEKAS in the end zone?

Illusion
Just something wrong with the grass there or something.
Ever see the face on Mars?

Actually
I think the photo was taken by the satellite after the Rose Bowl game between USC and Texas. You can still make out the Rose Bowl Logo and you can still see USC spelled out in the bottom endzone. It is not an illusion.

Yes, you're right
That's exactly what that picture is. I was trying to explain why it looked like TEKAS instead of TEXAS. That was the illusion I was referring to.

My bad
I must have misread the comment.

What illusion?
It was Killebrew's fault. A late hit smeared the critical junction.
Horndude is really dhab, who doctored this photo in just such a manner as to only attract your attention.
Long after the game, a staggering besotted Matt Leinart slipped out on the field and pissed his initials on the X, hitting ends on the left. But he couldn't get the job done then either. He was running out of pee when Killebrew slammed into him, smearing a noxious down the left side of the X. The lovely irony of karma.

Or maybe it's just block style and the short side caret (negative images) are smaller and didn't resolve well.

LSU in Houston
LSU is the next biggest school after UT close to Houston. And Houston is probably the biggest city near Baton Rouge.
Although winning a national championship couldn't hurt your recruiting capabilities, we must remember that Katrina moved hundred of thousands of Louisianans to Houston. Looking up where those two future tigers are really from could disprove my claim :]

Ummm
LSU is the next biggest school after UT close to Houston. And Houston is probably the biggest city near Baton Rouge.
Ever heard of that certain agricultural college that's a little over an hour's drive from Houston? Baton Rouge close to Houston? 4 hour drive (only 1 hour drive from BR to New Orleans).
I'm not sure about the kid outa of Chavez HS, but Russell Shepard's a Texas boy through and through. I just hate losing Shepard and I hate having our pocket picked by out of state top tier programs such as OU and LSU. Yes, I know Mack goes in-state first but it seems like when we do venture out of our borders we get humiliated on signing day (see Scott & Perrilloux).
Wouldn't mind landing a kid out of Jenks HS (Tulsa) or some powerhouse New Orleans HS every once in a while...

If you haven't yet seen this linebacker from New Braunfels, well, watch this then!

For love of god, don't go to any Big 12 teams dude!

I can't see...
the Horns recruting him at LB because he is only 6'1". Assuming he bulks up to 225 or 230 in college, will he still have speed? On the other hand, he could be the second coming of someone like Dat Nguyen (hated TAMU player though he might have been) that has a lot of football savvy and is a fearless hitter. He is rated four stars so somebody we play, like Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor or TAMU is bound to pick him up.
