Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

A Legend is Born: Vince Young's Longhorn Debut against NMSU. You have to love that the announcers keep saying VY reminds them of Brad Smith. Little did they know...

Great Find!

I’ve been looking for this VY clip forever, I’m glad you found and posted it. It’s my favorite video of VY on Youtube!

me too

everyone in the crowd was abuzz when he first came in because he had been so hyped up. and after that first drive, we were like “oh my god…..but can he pass?” second drive: “uh, yes he can. but who’s goign to break chance mock’s kneecaps?” turns out Chance just needed a little time to kill himself (Arkansas and OU—though both losses were the D’s fault primarily, Mock certainly didn’t help the defense by continuing to turn the ball over).

speaking of Mock, when you watch the video, he’s all supportive of VY right before he goes in the game the first time, seemingly saying, “you’re great; do your best. score a touchdown.” then after the second touchdown they show him with that towel over his head smiling awkwardly as vince come up to him and you can just see it in his eyes: it’s only a matter of time.

Anyone who compares Chiles to Vince...

Needs to be linked here.

Granted this was against an already defeated NMSU team, but holy cow. What, was that 100+ yards of offense and two TDs in about 3 minutes of game clock?

The announcers start by comparing him to Brad Smith, and end up calling him Mister Young.

Of all the plays he made.. I still love the stiff arm the best

And the fact that he got a penalty for high-fiving the crowd afterward. Do you know how confident you have to be, to do something like that on the first possession of your life in college football?

Somebody give this a third recommendation

We’ve never had a Recommended FanShot, but this deserves it

Whoa

I love when Young throws the ball and the commentator just goes “Whoa….”. Unreal.

Jeez

Is there ever going to be anyone again that comes to Texas and makes everybody say “Holy freaking crap” when he takes the field and blows it up like that?

Horizontalism is its own reward.

I remember that game so well

I was jumping up and down on the couch. Never been so excited in the fourth quarter of a blow-out. I remember telling my husband, “Quarterback of the future, let’s ditch Mock now!”

Wow. What great memories.

I refused to name my children Vince, Kevin or Major ... despite my secret desire to do so.

Even as a freshman

VY still blew me away with that clip. Its trully mind bogling how he did all of what he did. Every time i see a clip of his stuff i just think “God can this be real” i swear there is some sort of invisible protective force around him just watching all the things he is capable of doing and that he did throughout his tenure at UT.
