Kenn Kasparek Throws a No-Hitter
It hasn't been the easiest year for Texas baseball, but tonight is a great night. Texas pitcher Kenn Kasparek struck out nine, had one walk (HBP) and didn't give up a hit in the first no-no since Adrian Alaniz in 2005. The Horns beat Texas State handily 11-0 behind Big Bird and a huge night from the now hot-hitting Kyle Russell (4-5, HR #13 on the year).
The no-no was the 20th in Texas baseball history.

BIG BIRD!!!!
congrats to KK, he’s had a long road from overachieving freshman in a NC title run to surgery to struggling this year to a no hitter.

Holy crap!
What the heck is going on in the bullpen? Was the HBP the only thing keeping him from a perfect game? That is ridiculous!

Yup
The story of the night probably should be that KK went more than 5 and the defense didn’t have an error. The game should be available on TexasSports.tv later. This team is flawed but it is a hell of an achievement and this team CLEARLY has at least the basics for an Omaha run.

Woo-hoo!
At last, some good baseball news! Congrats to the Horns on a great achievement, especially KK!
I refused to name my children Vince, Kevin or Major ... despite my secret desire to do so.

Gah! Almost a perfect game!
Just kidding. That was really exciting to watch. I hope this can spark the team on the great things.
By the way, it was also good to see Kasparek back to looking more like he has in previous years.
