Tommy Bowden
I was bored and just looking for ANY college football news in general and I stumbled across a recent interview with Clemson football coach Tommy Bowden.
His comments are not only weird, but seem very inappropriate at times. Maybe I'm wrong, but most college coaches don't openly criticize players on their teams. Just to give you a taste
On freshman Kyle Parker, who is having a really good season with the baseball team:
"I’ve watched him practice and I’ve watched him play (baseball). He’s really good looking. If I was a girl, I’d be very interested in him. He wears those tight pants. When you wear loose stuff, you can’t tell the definition of a guy’s body. In baseball, everything’s tight and you can tell he’s very well put together."
On rising redshirt freshman receiver Brandon Clear:
"He’s been catching (my eye) for not doing the right things until today. He had a touchdown catch today on a fade pass. He used all 6-foot-5 of him over a corner on a beautiful thrown ball by Korn.
"That’s really the first time he’s (done anything). He’s struggled a little bit learning his assignments. He’s a redshirt freshman, but he needs to be a little more tentative. But he surely has the skills."
Here is a link to the full interview, does anyone else make any sense of this? I can't imagine a coach like Mack Brown, Pete Carroll or Jim Tressel saying anything like this...

The Bowden Clan
I wouldn't read to much into it and besides, when it comes to exploiting young people, it's not Tommy you need to worry about, it's Terry.
I wouldn't read much into it
Though if De'Cody Fagg had played for Tommy instead of Bobby the potential for accidental comedy would have been astounding.
It's his comments on Clear that are amazing. Tommy's surprised that a player he's coached hasn't gotten it yet?
Leach...
I can totally hear Mike Leach making those comments, maybe even Steve Spurrier (with the exception of the tight pants remark).
But I thought football pants were tight.
What kinda loose clothes was he talking about.
Clemson does wear football pants don't they or have they gone to some kind of fancy pleated skirts?
