Where is Texas Fight?
I realize that "Texas Fight" is just "Taps," just played really fast..... But how can Foxsports.com not rank it in the top 25 School fight songs?????
Teams like LSU, Flordia, Miss St, and Ball State are on the list... but we are not.
P.S. Aggies War Hymn is number 5.
This may be the first time I've ever seen the Aggies higher on a list than The University of Texas.....
Why is it so cold, and why are there demons outside my window?
I must add, The author of this article did make some funny remarks about a cultish A&M. so my total respect for him is not lost.

I have never seen a fight song list that didn't have Texas in the top 5.
So while his comments on A&M were amusing, though completely erased when he referred to Texas as TU and Texas fans as T-sips, I’m going to have to chalk him up as a musical moron.

Alternate Lyrics to Aggie War Hymn
“Kiddie Corps”
(sung to the tune of the aggie war hymn)
We are a bunch of country hicks,
We are a bunch of country hicks.
We are the kiddies of the kiddie corps,
All little aggies ages two to four.
We play the soldier boy from morn to night,
We are the boys with that “real high voice!”
“The Eyes of Texas are Upon You”,
That is the song they sing so well… “Makes me so mad I could just spit!”
So, all hail the mighty university,
We’re gonna beat you all to ricky-ticky zam, ricky-ticky zam,
All to hell with Texas A & M!
I want my mommy I want my mommy,
I want my mommy NOW!! – dangit!
(or something to that effect)

From a playability standpoint
Texas Fight is also one of the most difficult songs to play of all college fight songs. I cant find a source now, but when the I think it was NY Philharmonic was recording college fight songs, it was one of the only ones they had to practice a few times before recording. Most fight songs are retardedly easy to play, and were sightread just fine.
Next time you hear it, try to listen for what the saxophones, clarinets, and flutes play during the song. Though you might need a recording to actually hear em =P

Texas fight was pretty demanding to play. In high school, my band director (I believe only because I was such a longhorn fan) decided we could play Texas Fight as well as Noble Men of Kyle and Boomer Sooner (he was an OUsucks grad). Boomer Sooner, surprisingly, is actually a lot more challenging to play than Texas Fight.

Start playing Boom Motherf*cker
and I’ll start liking band people again.
It’s surprisingly simple if you hit the first note on the nose.
Even better if vice versa.
