Student Season Tickets
Any students have any concrete date on which the student season tickets go on sale for football season? I remember hearing about them around July last year. I also found out through facebook. Texas athletics has not been on the ball in communication in all the years I've been here.
Also, does anybody have any advice for getting the best seats? It seems like seniors (not 5th-years) with small groups get the best spots. I'm sure one of you old, wise alums have some advice on the subject.

july 1st
or right around then, is when they usually start letting students pay for them, all the way until july 28th, u can make a group. Last year I got screwed, cause I said I wanted to sit in the flashcard section…. 2 years ago it was right by the band…. last year it was in the south endzone….. I was upset to say the least. But whatever. Just being in the stadium is great. This year my group is only gonna be like 8 or 9 ppl. Last year it was 16. And this year I’m going to request seats near midfield, and see how close they put me there.

Don't put freshmen in your group
Where your group is located is based on the lowest classification within your group, so if you have one freshman, you might as well all be freshmen. You want the best seats, everyone in the group needs to be a senior (by hours, not by actual years).
And get ready for a ton of frustration in dealing with Bellmont. I don’t think they really care about students at all since you’re not paying the full price for the tickets. My freshman year (2001), I ordered student season tickets at orientation in early June, and they mailed them to me that summer. They were excellent seats, near midfield in the lower deck on the east side. And I got an OU ticket that year. The very next year, they went to the process of waiting until a month before school started before you could even request tickets, and you had to go wait in line for hours at Bellmont to pick up your tickets the first week of class. And I did not get an OU ticket again until my senior year. It blew.
So bottom line, don’t allow underclassmen in your group, and scour the Texas Box Office website and TexasSports.com for the official go ahead, since it will probably show up there before you get an e-mail.

I did season tickets after my first year of drawing tickets. The last two years I did season tickets (‘05 and ‘06 i think), you received an email with all of your tickets attached as .pdfs. There is no more standing in line to wait to get your season tickets anymore.
