Greg Davis is the problem?
“Burnt orange fans are encouraged to beat the rush and start criticizing offensive coordinator Greg Davis now.”
This is last sentence per Forde and I think he is taking an early shot at Texas fans – he is a Davis lover.
The north teams of KU and CU will be tough games but Texas should win those games. Missouri will be tough and comes right after OU but is in Austin. I like his comment of “trendy” Texas Tech. Tech better beat Texas this year in Lubbock or the Raiders will cry for a head – if not this year, when?
I still like this year for Texas – I know that everyone is pointed to 2009 but with most football gurus pointing to a down Texas season, I am anticipating a Texas team to come out meaner and tougher this year.

Pat Forde
should know that the GD-bashing in Austin is a year-round thing. Shows what he knows.

Forde is an ass
“Notre Dame will be better”
-No shit there really isn’t anywhere else to go but up
“OSU vs. USC non conf game of the year”
-Thank god nobody else predicted that for this season
“Mark Sanchez (If healthy) will start all season”
-Genius Forde, typically if the starter is announced in spring ball, then its not that bold of a prediction to assume hes gonna start all season.
Shakespere and college football do not belong in the same sentence, paragraph or article, thanks to Forde we now have visual evidence of that.
Now to the part of the article that actually counts:
“Texas’ streak of seven straight seasons with at least 10 wins will end.”
THANK YOU!!!! I am so happy to hear everybody predict that we ‘re gonna finish middle of the road, hell I wish they would start predicting that we ll lose to Baylor (that would just make me giggle). These lack of expectations could be the perfect thing for a young team that lacks experience. Our secondary by now must know that according to everybody they re gonna suck…I can’t wait to see how pissed off they play to show everyone up. Kindle, pure potential, we ll see. Colt, even I rag on Colt, but after hearing assholes like me rant about what a girl he is, he has got to play better. Our RBs, of course they re gonna be shit because J(esus)(fumbling)C(harles) has taken his glowing ass to the bigs, they know how talented they are and the kind of show they have to potential to put on. Its gonna be a fun as hell season to watch cuz at the end of the day we have nothing to lose, after all aren’t we gonna have like 18 conference losses to Big 12 north teams alone.
P.S. To BigTexBD,
GD-bashing in Austin is a year-round thing.
Amen my friend

I love you Tvr'11
This is a great post.
I agree 110%
Just to add a little, if you listen to the writers talk about Texas, they all say that we could easily lose to Mizzou, OU, Tech, A&M, Kansas, OK St, and that FAU, Utep, and Arkansas games are not gonna be as easy as we think…. so I guess were looking at a 3-9 season…
They forget one fact…...
WE’RE TEXAS!
Bitches.

Sorry..I'm kinda new at this
I think Texas will continue the streak, and get 11 wins. Texas will lose 2 games this year, and make it to a BCS game. I hate to say it, but I think Texas will lose against ou. The question for me is who will be the second loss. Texas will beat Missouri at home. The only games left are Kansas, and Tech. I think Texas, ou, and a&m are all going to give Tech their best shot this year since they are going to be ranked pretty high (overrated). Dave Cambell’s mag. was the worse thing that could have happened to Tech, all that did was piss everyone off in the south! So I would have to say Kansas, because I think by the time Texas plays them they will be unranked and under the radar. Texas is a better team than Kansas, but they will overlook them.
I definitly think Texas has the talent and coaches to win every game. They are young, and have a great future.

Not meaning to get on your case for double posting.
I am just playing with you. Nice work around here. You are part of the daytime group [along with BG, BiC, and learned hand (the dead US Circuit Judge)] that keep my workday fun. Thanks for all the posting; it keeps our discussions moving.
It's a Horns' world. Even Aggies play hoops with a burnt orange ball.
Is it football season YET?

If we're taking a moment to appreciate '84
We give ‘84 a hard time, but I’m glad he’s around. Even if I did compare him to Robert Killebrew for his late hits on Jamal Charles, which was wrong of me. Robert Killebrew shouldn’t even be compared to Robert Killebrew.
He’s civil, even in disagreement, and even when he’s catching hell from a dozen strangers. That’s a rare trait on the internet, and one we shouldn’t abuse. Though I find myself completely confused about where he’s coming from half the time; it’s still a fun discussion. Better, it has made me do a lot more research to make my points, and made me a better educated fan for it.
Considering my job consists of reading things and writing memos for other people to ignore, I’m glad for any distraction I can get. In the tradition of EDSBS, a Shiner to you ’84, but I will disagree with you about Jamal Charles being "just a fast guy" until my dying day.
Now back to my job as a dead circuit judge.

Favorite GD laugh from last year
Baylor game last year in Waco – I was sitting with my son by the band in the corner end zone and when GD left the field to go back up to the press box after halftime, the chant of GD sucks was so loud including many in the band. What an offensive play calling game that was for Texas!

Texas Tech
Isn’t every year supposed to be the year Tech grows up and beats a real football team like Texas? Like, every effing year? Then we play them and remind them they’re Tech and we’re Texas? Like EVERY DAMN YEAR?
Can we please get over the collective blowjob that is Tech and the media?

Tech beating on OU
Well they beat OU in 2005 and in 2007, so I guess they have shown they can play with those teams. Sure, we’ve had their number recently, but it isn’t like they haven’t won some big games recently.
