2009 recruit Tariq Allen
Here's a link to a video The Dallas Morning News and its high school sports Web site, HS GameTime, did this week with Irving MacArthur middle linebacker Tariq Allen, who has orally committed to Texas.
Allen (6-2, 231) is No. 13 on Rivals list of the nation's top inside linebackers for the 2009 recruiting class. He says he's trying to graduate early in an attempt to enroll at Texas for spring classes.

Serious concerns here...
Ray Lewis over Lawrence Taylor? Are you kidding me?
Lawrence Taylor, defensively, has had as big an impact as any player I’ve ever seen. He changed the way defense is played, the way pass-rushing is played, the way linebackers play and the way offenses block linebackers.
-Madden, before he was senile.
LT had 20.5 sacks in a single season… Ray has 30 for his career.

those were a kid’s answers…
and let’s face it – Ray Lewis comes closer to LT than Billy Madison comes to Caddyshack!
something tells me he’s probably not seen much of LT in his prime OR Caddyshack…

I understand that
I thought about ragging on that one as well, but personally I’m more forgiving of Billy Madison over Caddyshack. Its not like they are the same kind of humor, and people have different tastes in comedy, but seriously, how could you grow up a linebacker and not know that LT was a God?
It just reminded me of when DJ was here, how he seemed so in touch with the linebacker history at UT and all that. I don’t think DJ would have put Ray Lewis in his top 3, much less over LT. Of course, I didnt hear any interviews of DJ when he was just a junior in high school either.
All jokes aside, Tariq sounds like hes got a good head on his shoulders, and a good attitude. Looking forward to see him here.

Huh?
We don’t want an ILB with an OLB mindset. The MLB is supposed to make tackles and pick up crossing tight ends, not blitz the QB.
Additionally, LT played in a 3-4 scheme and was a DE for all intents and purposes. UT is still running a 4-3 (unless Muschamp is changing that.)

Don’t tell Bobino/Akina that.
