Brooke Daniels Wins Miss Texas USA

An update from last year, when we congratulated Crystle Stewart on winning Miss Texas USA, both because it was the right and honorable thing to do and...

Because the runner-up was just as worthy of a full-attention salute.

Well, Ms. Daniels did more than launch 54b into a summer-long obsession with beauty pageants. She followed up this year with an even better head shot...

...and then won the competition.

Congratulations, Brooke Daniels, Miss Texas USA 2008.

Uhm, hello

being miss Texas takes a lot more than just looks.
You have to look good in both a swimsuit and an evening gown.
You have to walk without falling down on stage.
You have to have a talent that is not god awful.
And you have to answer hard questions about maps.

Come on froggie. Put some ice on it.

I can remember Farrah Fawcett strolling across the main mall, the late afternoon sun turning her long hair into a glowing incandescence and every step making the mall shake. Or something shake. And vy til I die is correct: there were more beautiful girls…some move lovely that young Ms. Farrah even then, but there were few overall better packages.

Glad to see that Texas women still have it.

Wow

Whills, you’re as old as my Dad. I guess she used to hang around the NROTC guys and he still brags about it to this day.

So take that.

She was something to see.

For two years I lived about two blocks beyond her Tri Delt house, so I’d see her coming or going. Boy, that would perk up your morning. But there were so many great lookin’ women that I was in a state of shock the whole first semester. The Austin guys I came to know (mostly Austin High and McCallum) just took it for granted but all of us from small rural towns just had our tongues hanging out. Seeing was believing and made a big impact, like that on your dad.

Groups like NROTC could pick sweethearts and the more astute would go after campus beauties. Just like BON has unofficially picked the pom-pom girls. Nothing wrong with that.

Crystle Stewart

Apparently, Stewart was in the running for Miss Universe until she fell down on stage. This is the second year in a row that Miss USA did that. Let’s hope Daniels has better footwork.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.

Rigged
Miss Universe

contest is obviously rigged. Two commie winners in a row (Vietnam, Venezuela) over falling down American beauties. (Plus, Ms. Columbia should obviously have won this year)

Brown Control to Major Applewhite...

Hmm

One syllable first name, E at the end…

How sure are we that her name isn’t really Brooke Daniel, no s?

I hope this blog does not start doing more things like this.
