It's still a year away ...
but as of right now, the Men's Basketball team has two predicted 1st round picks with Damion James going 7th and Connor Atchley going 21st according to NBADraft.net.
I use to rip on Connor so much, but it is amazing how much he has improved over the past year. I definitely see him finding a niche as a three point specialist ala Danny Ferry.
I can't wait for the madness in '09.

should be a good year
for out basketball squad. Pittman and Gary Johnson will be beasts in the paint…add to that the already proven Atchley, James and Mason. I’m not sure how good Abrams can create for himself, so it will be very important to see how the PG position develops….will probably make or break the season.

Why is...
it that Damion James reminds me of Kris Clack? Both extremely athletic, but I’m not sure of NBA material. I think if Damion can continue to work hard for another year or two, regardless of when he goes pro, he’ll do a little better. I yearn for the old BMW days that started all this. That’s when I really began to follow Texas basketball.

Clack
was a waste of potential.
James and Clack are both big physical players, but that the difference between the two is James’ work ethic. He really improved his jumpshot last year, and if he continues to progress, he should have a great future in the NBA.
