Open GameDay Thread: Texas vs Alabama
Kickoff at 10:00 p.m. CT. Texas, represented by BON'er Chase Dunegan, versus Alabama, represented by some dude who owns world records in video games. Playing NCAA Football 2009 on its release day, courtesy of Bush League TV.
I'm just thrilled that we're at a point where we're gonna have embeddable live video of this thing. A live Open (Video)GameDay Thread.
[live stream deleted to improve load time]
TEXAS 28 ALABAMA 7
I hadn't quite realized how desperate for football I was until I watched this entire game, start to finish, living and dying with each play.
Great job, Chase... Repping UT and BON exceptionally well... Enjoyed it immensely.

Gotta love SEC cheers
but I thought it ended “Get our team out of the slammer, Parole TIDE!”

For rills
Is it too early to get worked up over this? It’s not, right?

The audio comes from the other vid
at bushleaguedottv, the one showing the players. If you open it in another browser tab you can hear it.

Ok, so...
Do I qualify as having reached the pinnacle of geekitude when I’m
a.) Writing a computer program to simulate an impact on the Moon
b.) chatting on a blog
c.) Watching some dude play video games LIVE on said blog
All at the same time?
I'm throwing the 'Horns...
... at my cubicle wall. I’m just glad I got a girlfriend back when I was normal.
if you twitter her about the game
that’s some geek points

Oh man, twitter...
One of the weirder things on the internet. My project has its own twitter (I did not write it), and it writes in the first person. It’s a 700kg satellite, and it gets excited when people have meetings about it. Very weird.
The Mars Rover one
makes me incredibly sad. It keeps talking about how it’s had a good life and how we shouldn’t be sad it’s going to “die”.

This is just the beginning
Wait until you get a job in the industry and you will look fondly on these days when you weren’t completely immersed in geekdome.
So 24 hours of non-stop gaming...
... sure has a lot of stoppage time.
Do we get that? I say we need 2 hours of injury minutes! I watched soccer!

I need football!
Would anyone else think its sad that I need football so bad that I actually watched the 2006 matchup between Air Force and TCU a couple nights ago on THE MTN?

This is amazing!
I am sitting here watching this with my 4 year old daughter wearing her Longhorn cheerleader outfit.
I think she is more excited than I am!

is all part of his breakfast routine, so it’s not included as a skill move due to frequency of use.

the Greg Davis review?

Does
Chase have an advantage because he could, I’m just sayin, watch what play he picks…

Watch the subs...
He’s made use of all of our players. Something not seen since… well… just not seen.

My feed is so far behind
that I’m seeing comments appear a good 15 seconds before the ball’s snapped. Just like during the season!

does anyone else get just as ticked
when the digital opposition starts celebrating when they’re down?
This is supposed to be an incentive HB?

Oh, man!
Someone tell chase to keep the stats from this game.
Also, tell him to quit playing man against the crossing routes, damnit.
And good coverage downfield when the scheme allows.
Defense is going to be goooood.
BEASLEY FOR FUCKING SIX! TALKING TO HOOK ‘EM AND ALL THAT SHIT!
Gah!
I hate the kicking game.
Also, Chase just got the boot. Let’s hope the CPU can hold on while the coach walks to the locker room.
HB's satellite can outcall GD
hands down

..is saying that all those fans will still be there in the fourth quarter down 28-0?
In 'bama country, sure
where else are they going to go in Tuscaloosa?

They, too, were born on the backs of tractors
