Around SBN: The 2008 Big East in fives Bar-right-arrows

Thanks Everyone!!!

Hey everyone! It's me, Chase Dunagan, and I just wanted to say that It was an honor to represent The University of Texas and BON... for 3 quarters.  I got kicked after I missed the field goal  (which should have gone in if it wasn't for the lagging).   But I was up 21-0 so I'm pretty sure he knew how things were gonna turn out anyways.    :)

I wanna think PB and everyone at Bushleague.tv for letting me be part of this.  That was awesome.

I was very flattered, and amused, by the comments yall left.  I think I should replace GD too!    :)

And number 30 was Desean Hales.  He was badass in the game, Vondrell just couldn't get through the D-line.   I put in Chiles when I could, but EA gave him a bad passer accuracy, so Colt was the guy I had to stay with for the most part.   he was playing man for the most part, and Shipley and Cosby were having a hard time getting open, so I needed an accurate passer.  But Chiles did what he could, and I was pleased with his effort. haha

As some people noticed, I made some subs on D, Christian Scott in for Ishie was a big one.   I ran a nickel package for the most part, but I tried to run a 4-3 when I could so that Kindle could get some PT.  Obviously Beasley was my MVP.  He had great awareness and the speed to take his INT's to the house.  But the D-line was clutch on some short 3rd downs.

I think it's awesome that yall all watched the game!  I was in the dark fro the most part, because I had to turn off the other computers so that I could get enough Bandwidth  to play online.  But after reading all the comments, It's awesomet o see that so many people had my back.

My friend almost choked me to death when I threw that first pick, but I made up for it so all is forgiven, right? lol

Well Thanks again guys, I see that the CPU finished him off in the 4th, 28-7.     ( He probably wouldn't have scored on me if I was playing the 4th tho)  :)

The new upgrades to the stadium aren’t on this game. What the hell!?

by Longhorns84 on Jul 16, 2008 11:35 AM CDT reply reply   0 recs

Bought the game yesterday

The new upgrades aren’t, but RLM, ETC, and ECJ (engineering/math buildings) are all in the game. woot.

Heh, at least they covered the important details

I can wait 45 days for football, but that really makes me really miss Diff Eqs!

no way!!

that’s so cool..about the buildings..

don’t you think if they looked up the buildings that they would’ve looked up the upgrades..oh well

by vy til i die on Jul 16, 2008 9:29 PM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Well

if they had put the upgrade in, you couldn’t have seen the buildings during normal gameplay..

by pleaseplaykindle on Jul 17, 2008 8:17 AM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Would have saved them...

... animating some boring buildings in the background in favor of more Burnt Orange and White.

You played admirably, Chase...

... But I must say that the play of the game came after you got booted. John Parker Wilson (Three named QBs deserve what they get) rolled right, then neglected to slide as Christian Scott came up with full authority and crushed him to force a fumble that Kindle recovered and took back for six. The icing on the cake was that during the TD celebration, a little message box came up telling everyone that JPW was out for the game with back spasms. BOOM!

Nice pick by Beasley, though. And how did you get Ullman to be such a beast?

by Horn Brain on Jul 17, 2008 12:31 AM CDT reply reply   0 recs

Thanks man

I wish I could have seen that play.

Ullman = clutch

Guys that was great. I have been so deprived of Texas football that I have actually sat and watched the entire 2006 game vs K ST, and last years loss to A&M.

But any Texas, is Good Texas.

Hey Chase

It was fun watching you play! This game gets me ready for football season every year. It would be cool to play you, my PSN is the same as my screen name on here. Hopefully we can play sometime!

by blazzinken on Jul 17, 2008 2:53 AM CDT reply reply   0 recs

heck yeah man

I’ll look u up whenever I get on, but I probably wont be able to play til mid August when I move into my new place, cause I can’t get passed the firewall and get into the EA servers at my place right now. Last night I was at my friends’ place. But yeah man, my PSN is the same as my name on here also, lol. If u ever see me hit me up, and ill do the same with u.

QB

I play with Chiles at QB..You can’t stop it, you can only hope to contain it!

I don't know about you guys' experience

but Kindle is a beast in NCAA 2009. Even if I am not controlling him he is still in on almost every play. I hope that bit of fantasy plays out in reality.

I’m digging the look of the new game for sure. I’m already 1/4 way thru my first dynasty season.

Nothing like a little NCAA to remind you that live football is tantalizingly close.

Dude

Kindle IS a beast in NCAA 09. I control Christian Scott for the most part, and Kindle still has like 10 tackles a game. Oh yeah, I won the thorpe with Scott in my first season. Only award I won tho. 14-0, played Mizzou in the Big 12 Championship and USC in the National Championship. PWNED them both.

by texasfan05 on Jul 17, 2008 2:36 PM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

They must have changed some things...

... I remember NCAA ‘07, I believe, when my little brother had Limas, Colt, and Jamaal coming in at #1,2 and 3 for the Heisman. I think he also switched out his first game of the season for Florida in the swamp somehow, went undefeated, and then recruited an NFL team out of the nation’s high schools. Though he could have been playing on normal skill level or something.

by Horn Brain on Jul 18, 2008 12:56 AM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I think I played '03

And I had to work hard to not have Ced win the Heisman and leave school early. I had the same experience with recruiting though, it was too easy to bring in all top talent and dominate everyone else, it made dynasty mode not fun.

If they fixed that I may think about snagging a newer iteration, maybe get next years version, to have the 2009 horns ready to go…

by BoddickerIsClutch on Jul 18, 2008 8:23 AM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Well, not to scare you away, but

I just recruited a speedster (98) and I can’t be stopped returning punts and kicks on all-american. I don’t play Heisman, cause in the past games you would get screwed over cause DT’s would run as fast as my RB’s, and their RB’s would break like 40 tackles on the way to a touchdown.

by texasfan05 on Jul 18, 2008 10:41 AM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

they should make..

..it real by putting NCAA infractions in there..that would def. make it harder…like if hired Sampson or something…lol

by vy til i die on Jul 18, 2008 11:49 AM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

They used to have something like that

Where if a player got arrested or wasn’t passing the class you would have to suspend him or the NCAA would eventually punish the program. But people got upset because there were WAY too many kids getting in “trouble.” One time I had to start my 4th string at RB, cause my top 3 RB’s were all suspended for stupid things…. lol

by texasfan05 on Jul 18, 2008 1:59 PM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Did they really get rid of that?

I loved that bit of realism added to the game- having to suspend a player for cheating on a test or missing team meetings and stuff! I hope it’s on there, and we just haven’t seen it yet.
