Taylor Teagarden's First MLB Hit
Didn't see this posted anywhere and not really front page material, but former Longhorn Taylor Teagarden went yard for his MLB hit in the Rangers 1-0 win on Sunday.
Taylor Teagarden made his first major league hit count.
The rookie broke up Scott Baker's perfect-game bid with a sixth-inning home run and caught Vicente Padilla's gem Sunday as the Texas Rangers beat the Minnesota Twins 1-0.

Sigh
Since the Rangers are bound to trade him, let’s hope he goes to the Astros. They are in dire need.

Not so sure
I think he might stay in the organization. There’s no doubt that they will trade at least one of their prospects/players at catcher but I think Teagarden is safe. I find it more likely that Laird and Salty could be traded. Ramirez and Teagarden are the future and it seems Jon Daniels is finally going to stick to his “plan” and keep the future around.

This is the Rangers
Let’s hope so. I’m not impressed with Ramirez’ work behind the plate and Saltalamacchia cannot at the this point hit a breaking ball. Neither looks anywhere near ready for the big time. When we get into August, the Rangers will be able to try Teagarden every day and see if he can hit in the bigs. He was solid in college, but has not had a good average in the minors.
