Horns bad guys in upcoming movie?
I was watching the Olympics, and I just saw a commercial for "The Express: The Ernie Davis Story" and Texas featured heavily in the ad. It apparently includes the 1960 Cotton Bowl game as a major part of the movie, if that can be judged from the trailer.
Anyone else see that? Are they playing a different trailer in Texas? I imagine it's yes and no respectively, but I'm in Kansas City so I'm curious.

the movie
I was maybe in 6th grade when that game was played and 8th when Ernie died so young. Recall only very vaguely that Syracuse claimed some Texas players used racial taunts at Davis and other black players. Coupla websites might fill in some background:

Nope, I see the same trailer...
Texas, Burnt Orange, Ol’ Smokey. Ticks me off, but as long as they’re accurate and don’t embellish anything to try and enhance their plot, then that’s all fair game. I personally know nothing about the race history of Texas, except for the obvious anecdote that we were the last all-white championship team in ‘69 or ’70. I would hope that DKR would have stamped any overtly racist activities out where he could, but if he didn’t, we can just blame that on his Oklahoma heritage. Kidding, obviously.

Texas will represent the “racist” south of the early 60s, and be the obstacle that Davis overcomes to both gain the heisman and deliver an undefeated season to syracuse. I’m sure the level of racism will be intensified to provide ample drama in the movie. The 1960 cotton bowl will play a vital part in the climax of the film.

Just add it to the list
of anti-Texas stuff y’all have seen for a lifetime. The rest of the country just cannot get over it’s Texas envy. Nothing new here to see. Move on.

Texas, the bad guy? Not to worry.
Once Man of the House 2 comes out everyone will love us again. Actually, they’ll probably hate us more.
