Love is in the air
I recently returned to college 22 years after receiving my diploma from our College of Fine Arts. One of the hardest things about returning to a college campus was realizing that I am probably as old or older than most of my fellow students' parents (and the professors). My instinctual instinct even now is to sit next to the prettiest girl in class and chat it up from day one (I guess I should mention that I am childless - perhaps that changes one's perspective). Of course, I regularly correct my course (coarseness?) by remembering my better half and acknowledging my aching body and drifting mind.

But, it got me to thinking... and I've been wanting to broach this subject for a while...
My very last day as a student on the UT campus was spent taking an Art History final and then kissing a girl (Michelle?) from Tyler in the parking lot across from the art building in the shadow of the old north end of Memorial Stadium. She said she would never forget me and would see me again after the summer. I never saw here again. Later that summer I moved to California with the psycho formerly known as my ex-wife. Too much information or not enough?!
Before this off-season ends and while we can still dally about in such and such - oh fuck it, what is your most romantic moment on the 40 acres and proximal to the stadium and/or something Longhorn football related?
I don't care what some of y'all think, I know there are some romantics out there.

I can appreciate the psycho ex-wife
but they’re a dime a dozen (unless you live in an alimony state like CA).
Unrequited love over a kiss? When a woman says she will never forget you, she’ll be talking some shit before the moon has set, probably in a women’s bathroom with strangers.
Not to mention you weren’t around at the end of the summer but out west bonking crazies.
Make a fresh breast of it. If you’re back in school, look around at a positive embarrassment of riches in your midst. You’re in heaven and treating it like you’re in hell. Wake up! Wake up!
Take a deep breath and see if you can smell Cheetos and 7-Up.
You’ll never see here again either; great Freudian slip.

Do actions with the baton twirler count?
It’s kinda football related.

It depends on what you did with the baton.
To answer the more metaphysical question:
Do actions with a baton twirler count?
Yes, if she’s under 16. Otherwise, no.
Of course, baton twirlers come in many flavors, so there may be more romance in your soul that we can properly appreciate.

Does orange jackets count?
I’m not sure if you’ll find too many love stories directly dealing with the football players.

depends...
If you are a guy, probably not. On the other hand, if you are female…

Date by the Fountain...
Although this wasn’t in the stadium, it was in the shadow of the stadium…
Me and my girl friend were walking around campus late at night and decided to just take a break and sit by the fountain (east mall) and we talked for about 4 hours as I was in my happiest place…. right next to my girl friend and right by the stadium… she probably didn’t appreciate the latter part as much as I did. But yeah, it was nice, and romantic. Set me up for a great night…
