2007 Season broken down, 2008 preview
Reading some other blogs and i came across this, an unbeleivable statistical breakdown of out Texas Longhorns.
I know this probably worthy of tha fanshot but i thought i would go a little more mainstream with a fanpost. Beleive it or not we hould have won the KSU game last season by 7 points according to this statistical analysis this guy runs.
Sounds like he is a Mizzou fan that is very well knowledged in Texas football.

It's "our" Texas Longhorns.
The Boy is top rate. It’s worth reviewing his methods for those that haven’t seen this at his blog or on SMQ (sic).
The conclusions he draws on Texas are straight forward. The Horns can be much better than projected. That is really the basis for the current enthusiasm.

This guy is...
A GENIUS
I always enjoy seeing fans use statistics rather than verbally bashing the crap out of enemies. Tiger fans just went up a few notches in my book. Much respect and I can’t wait for this mid October game.

More props to The Boy
His stat wonk is always worthwhile. While I’m not sure how much I with all of his theories (i.e. talent vs. coaching for quarterly production) he’s always straightforward with the pros and cons of his methods and analysis.
It makes Rock M an excellent place to kill some time.

All those numbers numb the brain
But “double-Z” pretty well nails what the 2007 team was.
It also points out how close (margin of OU loss, ability to overcome the numbers to lose by just eight to the Aggies) this team was to being better than10-3.
I think it again points out either the quality of coaching or the quality of squad depth that even with three key OL hurt at some point (on a team that only had six to begin with); with Orakpo out or below par physically much of the way; with Sweed unable to contribute; and with just two safeties left by season’s end, the ’07 team could rally back from 21 down to win in Stillwater, blow out top-10 ASU, come within 2-3 big plays of beating OU.

We were 4 yards from tying the thing against OU...
If it weren’t for Jamaal Charles’ inability to hang onto the ball in the first half of the season, we would have probably won that game.

The guy....
…..must have watched a different Kansas State game than I attended last season. They whipped our ass! After the 1st quarter, that game was nothing but a loss. Mack has a 2-4 record vs. Kansas State and it shows.
Our margin of victory was 3 points on 3 different occasions. One of them was the Nebraska game. Watching that on ESPNU reminded me of how Jamaal Charles (God bless his soul) single-handedly saved the staff’s butt that day.
