Fast and Physical
Remember Mack Brown commenting the last two seasons about how the team was always looking for it's identity...sometimes deep into the season? Or the often silly (or forced) team slogans he'd come up with each pre-season? Either the slogan hasn't surfaced yet or it is refreshingly missing this year (let's hope for the latter). But I think this team already has its identity...and it is not as difficult or as complicated as MB's made it seem in the past. Fast and physical.
This team may be young, but they are going to be fast and they are going to be physical. The young pups in the secondary may not always be in the right spot, but they will fly to the ball, and when they get there...quickly...there is going to be some very loud noises. The linebackers are finally free of the upperclassmen in front of them and they are going to bring their wrath on opposing RBs and crossing WRs. Orakpo-phobia will spread throughout Big XII quarterbacks as #98 and his posse of Acho, Jones and Melton make that internal QB 'clock' get shorter and shorter. The DTs will be their normal force in the middle, not allowing teams to run, making them one dimensional.
The now seasoned O-Line will maul opposing defensive lines, especially if baby-faced killer Michael Huey gets a lot of PT. They will pave the way for the physical Bulldozer McGee and the fast Fozzy Whittaker. Colt will have more time and won't panic in the pocket, throwing to his vast array of lighting quick targets as Collins and Kirkendoll take larger than expected roles. Hopefully, Malcolm Williams develops into the Andre Johnson-type that some have predicted.
Everywhere you look, there is someone fast, someone physical or someone who is fast and physical. I'm not sure what the final record will be. Sure, they are going to make us scratch our heads or throw things through the TV on occasion. But I think they will beat 1 or 2 teams they will be underdogs to...OU, Mizzou or Tech. They will also probably lose to someone they are not supposed to...Colorado or OSU. That's the nature of a team this young. But I do know one thing: this team will be fun to watch and will make us proud. They will be fast. They will be physical.

This season won't be a success UNLESS..
Texas beats a&m and gets back on the right track. In 2006, we beat ou and the only thing that sticks out in my mind from that year is the collapse at the end. Texas has to play every week like its the championship game (I think they will).

There is nothing more important than
we beat ou
I’m hoping that the last game “The Holiday Bowl” is how we play every game this year. I really think we will. I don’t think the coaching staff will let this team take any opponent for granted. My only concern is the DB situation. Here’s hoping for a great year and just remember OUalwaysSux.
"Nobody leaves this field until we beat the hell out of them".................... L.J."Louis"Jordan in 1913 before kickoff of the Texas/ou game.

ou
is a good team, even though we all hate them. a&m isn’t a good team, and Texas is on a two game skid against them. We MUST beat a&m, and it would F’n great if we beat ou and a&m!

Well, it always is.
Call me a crazy ole man, but I can’t think of a single time I ever felt let down after beating aTm and ou.

How can this team not be great.
I find myself saying this every year but this year it seems more true then ever!
