FAU Depth Chart
http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/fb-depth-chart.html
Where is Malcolm Williams (only a two reciever depth chart though)? I also noticed C. Brown is pushing Beasley for the starting job. There really aren't many questions answered like who's the starting safeties, RB's, and LB's. The TE position suprised me with Ullman getting bumped all the way to #3 TE. I'm sure things will change between now and when Texas plays Colorado.

I noticed the absence of Williams’ name, too (aside from 2nd-team kickoff returns!). But I think Mack is just issuing the 2-WR 1-FB chart like he did most of last season, and I expect we’ll see Malcolm out there in the 3-WR sets. Kirkendoll and Buckner made backup WR spots. Sounds like we’ll be seeing Chiles out there in some formations, too.
It’s difficult to do much analysis with so many “OR” positions. I’m sure coach just wants to keep the competition up during practice this week.
According to the statesman:
“Brown said McGee and Ogbonnaya are still competing for that top spot, while Whittaker fell behind after suffering a minor knee injury this month.”

correction
just saw this on bevo beat:
“At the No. 3 receiver, Malcolm Williams is listed first, in an "or" situation with Brandon Collins.”
I guess they don’t post that part on MB-TF

Buckner and Williams
on the feild at the same time the next 3-4 years! I would hate to be the enemy guarding two 6-4 WR’s! They can’t stop it, they can only hope to contain it!

no real surprises
Other thoughts:
- None of the linemen have ORs by their names, so the starters look pretty set. Looks like David Snow is going to lose his RS.
- Jeremy Hills is on the 3rd string (4th overall) depth chart at RB. Maybe he burns his RS as well.
- Montre Webber is nowhere to be found.
- Aaron Lewis looks like a flex starter. Not too concerned with Eddie Jones at 3rd string; I’m guessing Lewis plays inside more often than not.
- Emmanuel Acho gets the nod at backup LB behind Muck. Turns out Earnest kinda stinks.
- The Gideon-Brewster-Ben Wells battle looks like the most interesting one the first few weeks. I wonder if Mack’s willing to burn both Gideon and Brewster’s shirts to find the best starter.
- The ORs for Thomas and Beasley surprise me a little. Looks like the whole senioritis thing is still there, as Palmer is assured of a spot for now.
- Hales and Monroe aren’t listed anywhere either. Cosby and Shipley as the kick returners scare no one.

DE
I seem to remember Eddie Jones looking really good at times last season… if he’s the #3 guy, they must be in really great shape at that position (which we know they are).

Cosby and Shipley
will be fine as returners. I think a&m might disagree with you. Monroe and Hales have the next 3-4 years to return kicks.

Palmer played pretty well last year, if you recall
Much better than Brandon Foster. I can’t speak to how well he’s playing now vs. Curtis Brown, but from what I saw last year, he’s a very solid contributor at CB. I don’t think this is just a “let him start because he’s a senior” thing. Ishie Oduegwu isn’t going to be a starter at safety just because he’s a senior.

Also on AAS's Bevo Beat...
-Ishie had shoulder surgery and will miss FAU
-This year’s official motto is “Consistently good to be great.”

HUEY
I was kind of surprised to see Huey backing up Dockery at right guard-I see him eventually beating out Tanner at left guard, arguably our weakest starter.
The Statesman showed more lazy reporting on a coach’s comparison of Justin Blaylock and David Snow. Since Blaylock was 6-4 and 335 pounds, and Snow is 6-4, 280, the comparison must have been technical, but we’ll never know with this kind of reporting.

Is there going to be a Mack Brown radio show tonight (Longhorn Sports Line?)

Note: 99 Roy Miller and 44 Rashad Bobino will also play fullback in short yardage and goal-line situations.
What the hell?

remember derek lokey
scoring a TD on a goal line pass against Arizona State? it’ll be like that. also, they’re gigantic and used to pushing people around.

Then you'd probably like Cody Johnson as the TB
in the hefty package, 258 following the blocking of a 300-pounder. Even nice on the edge, too.

Also….I think Quan has too many responsibilities. I would have like to seen some freshman or rFr receivers get some time as punt. kick off return.
