Ohio State looks very very good...
Sitting in Meatchicken watching the Big 10 network…OSU vs Youngstown State….waitin’ for my yahoo web broadcast of the Horns tonite….OSU is solid everywhere 13 -0 with 4 to go in the first….Terrel Pryor quarterbacked OSU’s third drive….he really looks like Vince, but didn’t really do much….
GO HORNS !!!!!!!!
I'd rather you just say thank you and went on your way.

contradiction??
he really looks like Vince, but didn’t really do much….

first series he didn’t do much.
I'd rather you just say thank you and went on your way.

is there anything uglier in the world
than those little Hawaii shovel-passes? They did it all the time last year, and here we go again against Florida. Vaunted Florida offense has failed to score so far, and Hawaii is moving the chains…

ECU has looked good
Those turnovers are killer, though. The game is a tossup going into the second half, I’d say. First team to get a legit off. Td wins?? A score here before the half would be huge for VA Tech.

Stafford
I just saw that Cox was getting pt for Georgia on that last drive. Did Stafford get banged up, or did Richt want to mix him into the game intentionally?

So I decided to lose some money
I’m trying a little sports betting for the first time, started small with $55 and bet these:
Texas -24
Michigan -160
USC/Virginia Over 42.5
TexasA&M/ArkansasSt Under 52.5
Not like I needed any more excitement with college football season, but I’m looking forward to having a heart attack or two today.

Looks like you did pretty well...
… juuuuuust missed on that 160 point Michigan blowout, though.

Pittsburgh
is not looking like a top twenty five team against bowling green. 17-14 pitt in the middle of the third quarter.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

beanie wells
Goes down with a foot injury. Seems odd to see a non-contact foot injury, I guess. Maybe I"m just used to seeing ankle or knee injuries of that nature. Regardless, he was carted off, and that could have major implications for the USC game if it’s serious.

two years ago
Isaiah Stanback was carted off with a broken foot and nobody touched him on the play that he went down. guess he just hit the ground at a bad angle… kept him out for the remainder of the season. If the same is true for Beanie Wells this will have a huge impact on their national title season.

Lame
15 yard facemask penalty rule already taking in effect in the Va Tech game.

Va Tech goes does
PHF called Va Tech the over-rated team of the preseason polls, I’ll take my bows now cuz I’m sure I’ll be wrong about just about everything else this year!

i knew Va Tech was overrated...
but i did not expect them to go down against ECU. I thought it would be close but i didn’t think they would lose. I hope this doesn’t happen to the horns against FAU.

Terrel Pryor
Any body see highlights or the game?
He doesn’t look that quick at all, he better have a really good arm or he might not live up to the hype

The comparisons to vince
are very far from accurate, IMO, thats just one game too he has another 3 years to prove me wrong

He's a big guy
So he’s hard to tackle, kinda like a JaMarcus Russell He’s not VY yet, but VY took a year to reach the level of play that he’s known for. Though it’s likely that Pryor won’t make that same jump—the reason VY’s so amazing is that he’s so rare.

A year?
To be fair, VY had a redshirt season and took 1.5 seasons before the lights came on – or maybe until Mack decided to let “Vince be Vince”. Pryor is playing in the first game of his true freshman season. I thought he looked pretty impressive today, albeit against less-than-stellar competition.

let's keep in mind
Vince redshirted his freshman year, while Pryor is getting thrown in the fire right out of the gate. He still a few years to go to be a great college player.
Anyone know the status of Beanie Wells’ injury?
Also, I took Stewart Mandel’s advice and picked VT to go down in my Yahoo! Pick Em league. Who knew Stewie was right some of the time?

Vince came in when he was a freshaman
And beat a pretty good K-state team, Pryor just looked slow to me

Watch VY's Debut Clips and compare them to Pryor's
And you’ll see that Pryor might look the part, but has a way to go until he merits a true comparison.

Texas super-recruit Sam McGuffie fumbles the ball on his 2nd play
Didn’t look like it was his fault though, I think the QB tried to keep the ball on the option.
Wasn’t this the guy the Aggies said was a lock? Oh wait… I should say one of many guys the Aggies said was a lock.

Virginia is getting absolutely demolished at home
38-7 USC
by goingforthecorner on Aug 30, 2008 5:12 PM CDT 0 recs
Did anyone listen to Keith Jackson's interview?
In the USC/Virginia game, he was asked if the USC/UT Rose Bowl was the best game he’s ever called, and he said no because there were too many mistakes. He didn’t like that Bush wasn’t on the field at the end, and he didn’t like the TD where VY’s knee was on the ground.
Seriously Keith? Bush not being on the field at the end wouldn’t have really had an effect at the end anyway, and White was killing us more anyway. Even if they made the right call with VY’s knee, it would’ve been 1st and goal or something like that. Give me a break.
