ACL Fest or Texas game

So what gets your pick for Sep. 27 now that ACL Festival and the Texas-Arkansas game are on the same day. I have 4 tickets to the festival that may be up for sale soon. I just love to see Texas demoralize teams from the SEC. I am still hoping for Texas versus LSU/Florida in the BCS Championship.

Holla if you want to throw me some bones to free up my Saturday to see the game.

Texas vs. Piggies – Music never really interested me (weird, I know) so it’s an easy decision.

If I listen to any music

it’s generally just to make fun of it (lyrics, singing, etc…). There are times when I can just listen to beats/instrumentals and be entertained on occasion though.

I hate to admitit but I'll be at ACL.

I know that’s not the popular answer, but got too many plans in motion already for that weekend. It’s a shame, I was really looking forward to seeing Petrino lose in person.

It's a 3 day festival!

I don’t see any reason why you can’t do both? The game will probably be at 2:30 again, if you stay for the whole game you can still be back at Zilker Park in time to catch the last 3 hours.

But if you just HAVE to be at the festival because you’ve been waiting all of your life to see Erykah Badu and you just don’t know if you’ll ever get another chance, then they will have the game on a big screen at the festival. There will be a large tent just inside the gate with a huge projection screen and plenty of seats to watch the game. I remember sitting in the grass in 2006 watching Texas finish off Rice 52-7 just as Willie Nelson was starting his set.

I've been fuelin' my dreams eatin' greens and beans.

Honestly

Saturday afternoon is far and away the “worst” stretch of the 3-day festival. Scalp your ACL Fest ticket and pick up an Ourkansas-Horns ticket (or two). Or hell, just keep the ACL fest pass and go to the game anyway. Worst case scenario you miss Fleet Foxes, who while incredible, will undoubtedly be back shortly, and you’ll still be back in time for catch Beck (meh).

Do we have a game time?

If it’s early, so that you could go to the game and get a few hours of the festival, we’re talking one hell of a Saturday.

11:00 AM Start Time

Why doesn’t UT just move the game to an 11:00 AM start time on the 27th? That way people can see much more of the music fest. Whether you like ACL, or not it is one of the biggest music festivals in the country and thousands attend. When I was a student, I would always look forward to it, even though I’m not that big of an alternative music fan, but it is alot of fun and it was a good excuse to get drunk.

Umm...
it is alot of fun and it was a good excuse to get drunk.

Dont you already have that in the Texas game?

this seems kind of like a far-away dimensions version of the RRSO…its kind of a border war (of sorts) the other team is wearing a gay red color with another yet again gay mascot and the game is surrounded outside by a pretty large gathering of people who are there to soak in the sounds, food, drink, and more than likely the weed. and the opposing team should sing a tune something along the lines of getting their asses monkey stomped by the most accurate passer in UT school history…
