Delay Of Game
Travel this weekend has the usual recapping behind schedule. I'll have some thoughts on the weekend up for Monday Morning Coffee, EDSBS Live will air Monday evening, and this week's Big 12 report will be delayed until Tuesday evening.
Sunday evening open thread/comment starter: Which Saturday flop was the most pathetic?

Based on......
I get it about rivalry games but come on. I won’t be a blow out but SC is going to win.

I don’t have to have a reason, this is what the end result will be and I will be appointed special counsel to the King of California.

Because Rick Neiuheisel is a smelly pirate hooker
that’s why.
Serious question: Any worries about facing a team coached by Norm Chow? By the end of the season, I would think they will have absorbed his offense, and should be effective running it.

Absorb it or not...
… I’m not convinced that they have the pieces to make it effective. They’ve got a 56th string QB, a good back in Markey, and a decent, but not special, receiving corps. I hope that they can make it work because it’s fun to watch Chow’s offense when it works, but I don’t think this team is talented enough.

Subtract Chow
and you have Wake Forest’s 2006 team. Admittedly, that team had good defense and special teams play.

None what so ever
I love Chow but he has no talent on offense right now. They have simplified the playbook in Westwood but as Sweed4Heisman said below if you don’t have the players it doesn’t really matter.

On the contrary Paragon
The game will be a blow out. I have seen nothing from UCLA thus far that makes me believe they will be passably competitive when faced with elite talent. Elite talent that is defensively capable against the pass, like USC, stands good odds of shutting them out.

Of course, you are logically correct.
However, SC’s PAC-10 losses have basically defied logic.
So, that’s why run Bevo run makes his stake in existential territory.

the usc hate on this site is ridiculous
It’s hard to take anyone seriously who predicts that UCLA will beat USC.

I laugh at your lack of gamesmanship.

not a great week for the SEC either
Auburn only scored three points, Bama struggled with Tulane, UGA struggled on the road (something that will be a recurring theme of their season, I think), and Tennessee’s loss to UCLA looks absolutely terrible right now.
I think the Big 12 is the clear number 2 conference right now, and it’s not that far back.

I laughed when I saw the final Auburn-Miss. St. score
It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

ahem...
1. ECU, with the best resume of all the ranked teams, also struggled with a surprisingly game Tulane squad (note: they can actually play defense this year). But if a two TD win is a “struggle”, I’ll take it
2., Alabama beat Patsy State 41-7 this Saturday.
3. The UGA-USCe game is traditionally a low-scoring affair (admittedly, this time it was because neither team wanted to win)
4. Auburn-MSU….ummm…ok, I give you that one!
5. UT…ummm….damn…that loss to UCLA looks horrific now, dunnit?

UGA
I don’t care that it was low scoring. What matters is that is was so closely played. UGA was outgained and arguably outplayed by a bad USCe team.

Its Tennessee
We are the real UT they are Tennessee, simple as that. No one outside of Tennessee calls Tennessee UT, just like nobody outside of South Carolina calls South Carolina USC. Tennessee is UT light.

They actually do invert the terms throughout SEC country
It’s a different world, where up is down, black is white, and everything tastes battered and fried.

is that Auburn-Mississippi State game the shortest offensive highlight reel ever?
Sly Croom and Tommy Tuberville’s respective coaching shows are going to include A LOT of defensive highlights during their postgame review. In slow motion. With lots of music and flashing lights.
Mississippi State should’ve gone for the suicide squeeze in the 9th inning when they had the chance.

I figured they would have pulled the goalie in the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period.

a little off-topic..
PB,
I was looking at the USC site, and they had the rankings of the top 25 underneath their schedule. Is there a way we could add that to BON?
