Texas-Arkansas TV
I have a question for anyone that can help me. My husband and I are BIG Longhorns fans even planning our vacations around not missing any game. With Hurricane Ike changing the Texas-Arkansas game, we will be on vacation in Hawaii when the game is played. We have been told it is going to be on ABC, but what I need to know if it will Regionally be broadcast in Hawaii. WE can't miss that game. Thanks,RMT

ah yes, sports in Hawaii.
I remember having to get up at 6 am to watch Texas play duke over Christmas 03; I was back in bed 20 minutes later.
I recommend looking at the abc coverage maps, which are usually released the day before gameday. Ive found them before, i think all i had to do was run a google search for it. I’m pretty sure PB has put one or two of them up on this site before, he might know. My initial reaction though is that you will be unlikely to watch it in your hotel room, because that region favors PAC 10 games. The only alternative, aside from praying for it to be THE night game on abc, is to check out a sports bar there that has the college fb package; it will definitely be viewable there.
Horizontalism is its own reward.

I lived there for 5 years
You may be able to get the game, but will have to start tailgating at midnight. The games are shown live on Oceanic Cable (Time Warner Hawaii) so the east coast games start at 6:00AM. You can watch all the games and still get plenty of surfing in before dark. Rinse and repeat for NFL on Sundays.

They have already posted the schedule for 9/27 but it shows Teams TBA on ABC for our time slot, so it depends on which game gets chosen. There are ABC sites that show that sort of coverage info but I don’t know where they are.
We have quite a Texas Exes crew over there who are known to throw watch parties for some of the games. They have arrangements with some of the sports bars to open for Bloodys and Bfast Tacos. Email me at the addy in my profile and I’ll put you in touch with them if you’re interested.
