Viewing the Rice game in Houston?
So I was looking at the TV listings today, and apparently, in their infinite wisdom, FSN decided the Astros-Pirates game is more important than the Rice-Texas game (blasphemy, I know). As such, it appears that at 6 p.m., FSN will be showing the Astros come thisclose to the playoffs, but still miss out. The Rice-Texas game appears to be tape delayed until midnight.
I'm wondering if there's any other way to catch the game (i.e., will sports bars have it on an FSN regional package or anything?), or if I'll truly have to stay ignorant until midnight.
Help would be appreciated.

Yeah I did not think.
One is I am in Virginia and two you need DirecTV inorder to have comcast sports net. I do not know if you have DirecTv, but you can always go to a bar and try that to.

To steal a smartass response from last year...
Just bring the grill and a lawn chair to the roof, point WNW and watch the game on Godzillatron!

really?
that’s weird b/c on my dish package i already went to gametime on Saturday and it showed that it was Rice v. Texas at 6pm, on FSNSW HD. I’m going to double check to see if it has changed or not.

investigation
I went to FSN tv schedule and yeah it looks like what you said is true. If you order an all sports package on your cable network, it usually includes multiple FSN channels. Most of those channels are still showing Rice v. Texas at 6. Here’s a link to look at FSN"s Schedule

If you have Comcast
and HD, you should get Rice v Texas at 6PM on channel 302 – Fox Sports SW (HD). The Astros are scheduled for Fox Sports SW (SD) on channel 37.
I’m not sure if you’ll get the right guide here since I’ve already plugged in my zip code, i.e. you may have to click on “see local listings” in the upper right corner:
Looks like we’ll have ‘horns in HD, but if it doesn’t pan out, I’ll be the guy in the burnt orange shirt at the sports bar.

i was hoping this was the case
Last I checked on TVGuide.com, they still had the Astros-Pirates on both HD and regular FSN. So hopefully Comcast is right on this one.
The bitter irony of it is, the only home I know that has the HD package just so happens to be my girlfriend’s, which, you guessed it, doesn’t have power.
So it’s either wait til midnight, or waste some gas and cash driving to a sports bar. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks to all for the research.

somehow i had cable
when my power came back on. possibly the two most exciting moments of my life, when i flipped the switch and a light came on and when i turned on the TV and the cable came on.
i really hope FSNHD has the game, cause the sports bars are going to be extra nuts this weekend with all the people that still don’t have power/cable. the mad sweep of the town for restaurants to watch football last Sunday was borderline hilarity.

for the record
i’m going to assuage my guilt for having power and cable by doing some volunteer cleanup tomorrow. i’m not just going to sit in my air conditioned house and watch football all day (only half the day).
