Comments on Kindle
First off, this is my first post and I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this site- I was getting so tired of reading lame analysis of the nations over publicized teams i.e.OSU, USC etc. Thank you guys for providing a site full of useful Longhorn info. I have not heard anything about how Kindle did in last week's game. I would hope that he is developing into the nightmare for opposing QB's that many others believe he can be. Comments? Also, I will be making it down to see my first game in Austin(Horns vs MU). Are there any "must go to" places after the game, pre-game?

From what I've seen
there has been little said about Kindle’s first-game performance. Norton and Muckelroy were much lauded by Mack Brown and others, so obv. Sergio did not play to their level.
Personally, I was just glad to see him reach starting status; I figure his skill will take care of the rest.
From what I recall, the coaches had issues with him concerning, evidently, his following the playbook, meaning he was not doing what they demand he do. The fact that a new def. coord. is in place and Sergio missed spring drills because of injury, put him behind the others when August began.
Lotta upside potential on this defense: the safeties, the two Browns and AWilliams at CB, and the first real chance for three junior LBers.

he did get that turnover on the bad snap, which ended a scoring threat

to me...
If Kindle doesn’t get injured he is having a good day.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

Very excited and into the game....
But he overpursued several times and didnt stay on the weakside several times which allowed the back to get bye him. He seemed pumped and ready to go. I imagine by seasons end he will be a household name. He just needs some time to get his legs back and to get into the flow of things. It’s a shame that he will only start 25 more games for us and he hasnt even made a statement yet.

He's a beast
TX Fight is right, he misses his assignments too often for my taste, but his extreme athleticism gets him back into the play. Just think Kill or Bobino, only bigger, stronger, and faster. Once he gets all his reads in (I believe it stems from a lack of experience), he should be all-world.
As for suggestions, since you’re coming from Missouri, I suggest giving Texas BBQ a try. If you’ve got time, head out to Salt Lick or the Lockhart BBQ joints (for example, Kreuz). If not, stick to Rudy’s or Ruby’s in town. If you’re a health-nut, try going down to the flagship Whole Foods or Barton Springs area. For pre-game beers, North Campus is the common choice (Crown and Anchor, Posse East), especially if you’re parking a car. Take a tour of campus. And finish it off with a night on 6th street (or if you’re not into the college crowd, the nearby Warehouse District area). Hope this helps.

Thanks
Thanks for the help. Hopefully he will become the beast I have read about. I guess I was just hoping for him to put Rusty out of commision. It really sounded like he was going to get the opportunity to do so with Muschamp’s blitz packages utilizing Kindle. I am a native Texan so Salt Lick is a must. Thanks for the help with the pre-game and post-game festivities!
