FAU
Last two Florida Atlantic games: 17-0 loss to Michigan State and 37-3 loss to Minnesota today, not exactly powers . . . kinda downgrades that 52-10 opener.
Game on radio in OKC?
Anyone know of an OKC station that carries Horns games? I know, weird question. It’s for my parents, they’re driving through.
okc radio
no okla station scheduled to carry (according to UT’s list) . . . might try 660 AM out of Dallas; it comes in down in Texas and may have the push to get to OKC. That or 760 AM out of S. Antonio look like the best bets
I appreciate the feedback, folks
I think I’ll just call my parents every few minutes until they get into Dallas radio range. Hook ’em!!!
wtf??
so they bumped it from an HD channel to standard def?? this blows
don't know
if they can show different broadcasts between HD and regular. i’ve seen before where they show a Rangers game listed on the HD channel, but it’s colored bars and Astros on 37.

62-14
Hell, I thought I wasn’t going to get to see this but it is on the regular Fox SW channel. Hot dog. Just got in. Great surprise.
That would be great for me too
Except the house I’m now living in does not have this channel! There’s no radio in the room I’m staying in either, so it looks like I’m stuck with Gamecast and reading BON posts.

Damn, sorry to hear that.
I was resigned to listening to the radio – which I actually like to do – and the live blog. Remind us if we don’t give enough detail. Gamecast can get rather shy on key plays.
subhead on the open thread
“Game 3: Rice Owls (2-1) vs #17 Texas Longhorns (2-0)”
can we fix it, to avoid a jinx?
I'm liking these long kick offs.
Every little edge helps.
my sooner bro
says the OU kicker can’t get it out of the end zone. So the Sooners have at least one weakness …
They got around contain
and the downfield guys played it poorly.
They'll go no-huddle most of the way.
Good practice for OU.
A sluggish start...

Agree. Takee your chances early while you got 'em.
I bet Clements runs or throws long.
The seem a little too careful and not aggressive.
That’s a young defense, though. Thinking. Not reading and reacting. Not yet, anyway.
Our opponents..
always come out jacked up to play UT. I think that has something to do w/ the opening defensive drives. Let’s get a stop here!
Sweet!

That was close..
Nice catch and run. How does Rice leave Cosby that open?
O-Line not looking that great.
Here comes the review…looks like a fumble.
what the hell is that call anyways.....that doesnt even make sense
fumble into endzone and the other team gets the ball
Frick, their QB is faaast

These teams go for the first quarter. This won't last.
Rice used to be able to go three full quarter; now lucky for a half.
If you can throw in three seconds, no rush can get you.
Count it off. That’s all he’s got.

by Super Saiyan Patrick on Sep 20, 2008 6:31 PM CDT reply actions
He flushed from the pocket at 2 seconds.
We have more rush than many seem to think.
I agree, that third down play was much better...
It’s early, the D is settling in. Good job to hold Rice to three points on both of those drives where they chewed up yardage.
Who does against spread teams.
You get that against running teams but seldom now in this era.
What was once
a 14-0 game is now 31-7. Shutouts are almost flukes with today’s rules and offenses
yay!!!
I have the game in Houston!!! Bend but don’t break defense anyone? TEXAS FIGHT!!!!

SUCKS. ESPN’s is not a lot better. You guys are about 2 plays ahead of the ’net play by play. thanks
We have some lead does here.
You know, the doe out in front of the grazing deer, alert and jumpy at anything.
They ain’t no mountain lions out today.
We're not face up on the slot receiver.
Need to get tighter inside the first-down line. Clements is too accurate to leave that wide open.
That looked like some kind of 33 derivation.
Some defensive wonks here?
clement, best qb in the big 12?
that guy is amazing, none of the other qb’s with the exception of griffin can do what he does. bradford and harrell wish they could run the football like that. i honestly believe he could be one of the best quarterbacks Texas sees all year.

But yeah, it sounds pretty loud.

I’m “watching” espn gamecast – big fan of kirkendoll’s – would anyone be so kind as to note if he looked ridiculously quick or anything of the like on his reception, I’d appreciate it

drinks
for all of us that called the 99-rd drive!
The only concern so far? McGee: 6 rushes for 16 yards
Rice’s d is tiring out though, he should be able to get that average up.
GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!
does anyone know what the solution for PTSD is? the equation is simple!!!! Longhorns football > PTSD
If You See Kay, Oh You
the major must be pleased that he is on the coaching staff of the QB that is going to shatter his record...
If You See Kay, Oh You
nice stat at abotu half through the second qtr.... muck has 5 tackles so far.

Habit for me, strange shenanigans from others.
NT means no text. From the time when updated comments had to be opened. So, it alerted users that they didn’t have to open the comment. A little courtesy and timesaver. However, on this site that seldom happens.
Other explanations may vary.
Fair enough.

amazing, no matter the opponent. especially when it’s an offense that’s been moving the ball all game.

Great run after catch by Shipley
That was some terrific vision.
Right. Thought GD would pull something out but he didn't.
ANyone see where the pressure came from on the last two plays?
I really believe Fozzy will be that guy
once he’s healthy. I just don’t think McGee can give us that explosive running play.

While I was sarcastic earlier, I also wonder where is Chiles.
I just find it hard to believe they are saving “him” or the mythical Q series.
Yes, even if they'd don't use the Q series.
If he’s the #2, he needs the work before the game is out of control.
This is one of the failings from the last two years and needs to stop. Colt is just fine. But the Horns need to be seeing the future for what it is and get prepared in a meaningful manner.
Are FS penalties planned
so the offense can get more yards?
:(
wow – this sucks real bad. Second injured TE.
In Mack Brown We Trust!
bradford can suck on it. it sounds like Cold is just having his way on the field today.
If You See Kay, Oh You
the Longhorns are certainly catching up on their sacks for the year so far...

No radio boardcast, but it doesn’t look like I need it now anyway. I went to HEB so that’s why I was out.
The offensive stats as I see on yahoo are so refreshing to see. The multiple goal line stands must have been exciting to witness.
Just sucks to find out that Irby will probably be gone for awhile.
by goingforthecorner on Sep 20, 2008 9:10 PM CDT reply actions
OK. Went to other thread and didn't see this for now.
I shudder for Irby. Looked bad. Dislocation at the least.
Stats are great, though. Over 600 yards last I heard. The record is 611.
