McGee

Could he be our 4th best runner outta the shotgun? Fozzy, Og, Johnson and Colt?

by 40AS on Sep 20, 2008 8:14 PM CDT reply actions

Easy, Colt

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

Josh Marshall

Any idea when he comes back?

by Kool Hand on Sep 20, 2008 8:18 PM CDT reply actions

If you're following the game from New York

MSG (channel 48) is now showing the Rice game. A WNBA game just finished. Weird scheduling, but no complaints here.

by NYCHorn on Sep 20, 2008 8:19 PM CDT reply actions

I'm a pessimist

because I haven’t seen anything other than the flea flicker to give me hope for the big play passing game.

by Kool Hand on Sep 20, 2008 8:21 PM CDT reply actions

Gotta give it to Texas, we have the best school commercials...

Sure beats the OU one with the football player holding the ballerina.

by the1austin on Sep 20, 2008 8:24 PM CDT reply actions

TE?

What if we move Og to TE?

by Super Saiyan Patrick on Sep 20, 2008 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

That's a pretty damn smart idea.

And there is a precedent, although somewhat mixed. Terry Orr was a fullback for Texas; wound up being a tight end and, at times a H-back before they were cool, for the Redskins.

by whills on Sep 20, 2008 8:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Plus he had a kick ass jheri curl

by longhorn543 on Sep 20, 2008 8:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Maybe

He’s got good hands and is a good blocker. May take a game (Arkansas) to pick up the route running. Frees up the RB rotation too. I think the only negative is his height.

may god bless b. irby. i believe that was the last play of his career and my heart felt apologies to him and his family. that just put a big lump in my stomach. hook em

by kcc28 on Sep 20, 2008 8:34 PM CDT reply actions

Not the last play of his career.

I think it was Willis McGahee who had the same injury (maybe worse) over at Miami and he’s done fine. Plus he came back and he’s a RB!

by HornPossessed on Sep 20, 2008 8:36 PM CDT up reply actions

Collins

in the game. It’s official.

guys aren’t meant to play QB in college.

by longhorn543 on Sep 20, 2008 8:38 PM CDT reply actions

Chykie's having a game.

I agree we should let them play and make mistakes. Ideal time to do it. Invest..

by whills on Sep 20, 2008 8:38 PM CDT reply actions

We shouldn't run Colt so much.

If he goes down, we are fu@$#ed. Chiles —> ugh

by Cyrus on Sep 20, 2008 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

That TD is on Chiles.

Texas 31, Rice 10, 2:04 in the third.

by the1austin on Sep 20, 2008 8:41 PM CDT reply actions

I realize Texas has this game in hand, no doubt, but I can’t help feeling like Texas may be looking ahead.

by Kool Hand on Sep 20, 2008 8:41 PM CDT reply actions

Colt back in.

They must be afraid of letting Sherrod try something.

by HornPossessed on Sep 20, 2008 8:42 PM CDT reply actions

I think CJ

might be becoming the starting RB tonight.

by longhorn543 on Sep 20, 2008 8:44 PM CDT reply actions

CJ and Fozzy have established themselves as the top two RB options.

Why play Colt here?

If he gets hurt – playing Rice for God’s sake – then the season will basically be trashed

by krelldoggy on Sep 20, 2008 8:45 PM CDT reply actions

OB

NIce!

Put in Harris!

by longhorn543 on Sep 20, 2008 8:45 PM CDT reply actions

OK let's get Chiles some reps

And let him throw a few passes – we will need him in an important game this year

by krelldoggy on Sep 20, 2008 8:47 PM CDT reply actions

Second half points

That TD was the first points of the second half given up by the horns

by 40AS on Sep 20, 2008 8:49 PM CDT reply actions

Indeed.

Hopefully that last for awhile.

by HornPossessed on Sep 20, 2008 8:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Colt McCoy is a GREAT quaterback.

by Texas_Fight on Sep 20, 2008 8:49 PM CDT reply actions

Here is hoping we can say the same thing after OU and Mizzou

by krelldoggy on Sep 20, 2008 8:51 PM CDT up reply actions

is really killing it. It’s been some time since we had someone who could constantly get us touchbacks.

15-yd facemask

while at the quarter break—thoughts on the elimination of the incidental face mask call?

by zissou on Sep 20, 2008 8:50 PM CDT reply actions

I like it

It’s tough as a tackler to not just grab whatever is out there to stop him. Incidental facemask…no harm no foul. It’s only the more egregious twisting of the neck that they’re trying to prevent.

Talk about facemask…

in the past, you grasp it, you let it go…five yards. now, you grasp it, you may as well yank it as there’s no incentive for releasing it. perhaps more dangerous?

The sad part about this game is that

no matter how much we win this game by, we still lost our amazing TE for, most likely, the entirety of this season.

by HornPossessed on Sep 20, 2008 8:52 PM CDT reply actions

Rule change?

Any thoughts on a rule change to not allow tackling below the knee from the front or side? I’d apply it to the NFL too. Some serious knee injuries that can wipe out careers.

Colt Season Stats: 63/81, 833 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT, 78% Completion %

Rushing, 25 Carries for 194 yards, 2 TD’s, 7.8 yards per carry.

He’s over the sophomore slump.

by the1austin on Sep 20, 2008 9:31 PM CDT reply actions

Screw the "Q"

Find something to do with Chiles other than mop up quarterback and ill-formed Q package meanderings. Colt is the QB – end of story. I really feel bad that the defense got scored on after Chiles’ fumble. Sure, Chiles should have been used more last year so he could be ready this year – but, guess what, he wasn’t and he isn’t. Leave Colt in the game as The Quarterback. Find something else to do with Chiles.

May VY be with you.
