Devon Kennard Tears ACL:Season Over
WIth all the Talk about Blaine Irby's season ending knee injury, the Longhorns could be affected by yet another season ending knee Injury.
Devon Kennard highly touted prospect out of Arizona received this news yesterday after an MRI. Texas was in his top 5 and are still recruiting him. Along with USC, Arizona State, Cal, and UCLA.
All 5 teams called him when they recieved word. I wonder how this will affect his recruiting, if anything i think it helps Texas due to the fact they have given scholorships in the past to players that have been hurt and could not play.

Kennard & McFarland are the last two 2009 recruiting class needs
Although this injury hurts Kennard…we need to continue recruiting him strongly. He may be injured now and of course an unconventional out of state prospect, but this guy is an absolute beast on the end. I can’t say Texas has had a great pass rusher at end for some time now. Along with Alex Okafor our other talented DE committ in this class, they would be causing havoc in opponents backfields coming from either direction. Not to mention if we got Jamarkus McFarland also. He is a player who can definitely be preparing for an NFL career too. He would be the perfect candidate(too much election coveage) to add a little depth to the inside of that line. These three guys coming into this program together and growing together under Muschamp’s hard nose style would be fun to watch. They are the guys that need to cap off this impressive class…ranked 4th right now by rivals
Oh ya…Devon Kennard also has a 4.0 GPA too! He wants to wear burnt orange obviously…he drove to dreaded El Paso to watch us play. Bag him Mack!
The Beast Kennard Highlight
I don't know..
..if he’s improved w/ his technique, but during that clip, it just seemed he would avoid blocks en route to the QB. That’s fine in high school, but I don’t think he’ll be able to do that again the competition he’ll face. He does have a quick first step, so maybe he thinks he doesn’t need to take on contact, but I would like to see what he does when a lineman gets a hand on him. Hopefully he’s as good as advertised, and I would love for him to make a speedy recovery and become a Longhorn.
