I was about to post

to inquire to the whereabouts of the tv guide. I’m lost without that post. Right now I’m stuck watching some game from the “acc” which the announcers said is college football. I’m not sure what it is but it ain’t football.

Well stop interviewing

and you’ll have more time on your hands for the important things in life. :)

It's the ACC

They’re playing a box-and-one and trying to figure out how to spell Krzyzewski.

I'm waiting on Dickie V. to pop out

and start putting his tongue up Duke’s brownhole while he espouses on and on about coach k and the Cameron crazies. I really hate that guy.

I know this makes me an a-hole

but I can’t stand the woman announcer on ESPN calling the Mich St. v. Indiana game. It’s not that women don’t belong (hello Erin) but not in the booth. Her voice is terrible but I really wouldn’t like any woman in the booth.

Am I sexist?

by UT2001 on Sep 27, 2008 11:22 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

she's done games

for several years; I agree on the high voice but (believe her name is Pam Ward) she’s no worse than a lot of the male game-callers and is always well prepared.

Fozzy

I have not seen any updates on him thus far. Is he healthy enough for some pt this week?

by Longhorn in MO on Sep 27, 2008 11:27 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

The only thing I've been able to read

is that he’s not expected to play or if he does “make an impact”.

by UT2001 on Sep 27, 2008 11:32 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Not sure

Bevosports said he may not go today. That is the only thing I have heard about him. Not sure how true it is because no one else has said anything.

TCU

Has anyone been able to catch any of their games this year? I understand this is the toughest team OU has played all year and expect to learn just how good they are this year. I am just not sure how to gauge TCU compared to others in the BIG XII. I am assuming they are about the same level as Okie state, based off of current stats.

by Longhorn in MO on Sep 27, 2008 11:40 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

re TCU: I saw one of their early games

Real, real tough defense . . . very limited on offense. OU should win convincingly but not run up a pile of points unless Frogs hand them some turnovers. I know BYU and Utah and scheming for Fiesta Bowl bid; TCU is a major obstacle (Cougars visit FW in three weeks).

by edsp on Sep 27, 2008 1:14 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I want to see our D dominate early

in the 1st half. We haven’t done that yet and I want to see Will’s D have the game plan coming in rather than the 2nd half adjustments. If we can get some turnovers from our secondary I’ll be more than happy with our progress and our chances going into conference play.

I think Colt and the O will be fine today but we need the running game to step up as we’ve been discussing for a while now.

But I’m really watching our secondary today to see what we bring against a Patrino pass attack.

Agree!!

But if we play like we did against UTEP in the first half we could get into trouble.

Fake Army is up 7-0 with 4:20 left in the 1st half

McGee threw a long bomb with no Army safeties in sight.

Boo.

Correction...

Real Army ties it up. 7-7. 2 minutes left in the half.

upset special coming from snead over at ole miss vs florida...

just scored a td bringing miss within 1 of tying the game. the stats for the game are extremely one-sided, however it looks as though the play by ole miss might be enough to pull the upset.

ole miss just

forced a punt on FL first drive after the turnover. i would have to say that this stop is the most game changing performance that this team has done and will do all year. i think it will give them the estute ability to pull the upset.

just had a thought,,,about game beer!

i have to pick it up still before the game, however the general synopsis of my game beer is that its bought in the same store every week from the same location, and drank throughout the game. i know my superstition is ludicrous, yet i cant help but think (as this JUST dawned on me) that since this year my game beer is being bought from wal-mart, if i should supersede that and buy it somewhere else; as those God-awful piggies from arkansas, where wal-mart is from, may have sabotaged my beer or soemthing…thoughts?

If You See Kay, Oh You

by texfan23 on Sep 27, 2008 2:00 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Not a chance.

The real key to your special superstition is the beer ritual and the buying is only a small part.

You can rearrange that, particularly in view of W*M/Hoggie connection, and strengthen your ritual.

Don't f*uck with a streak.

We’re undefeated this year so do what you always do for pregame. No alterations or you could really screw us.

by UT2001 on Sep 27, 2008 2:03 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

i know! that is my dilema!!

if some hillbilly-gaymo from ar-kansas does something that will mess with it, then intervention on our parts may save the streak. but so far i have just you telling me to leave it alone and roll with it, i need as much help with this as possible. individually we are weak, together we are strong and will over come any superstitions negative appeals.

i have a feeling

in 2005 UT and SC were the only teams to not get bitten by the upset bug at the beginning of the season. i feel as though this will be the case again for this week.

I'll remind it's a full moon weekend.

Underdogs with emotion get favorable action.

That doesn’t mean they win but they can scare the shit out of everyone.

Hold your water.

ok this is getting too close to comfort for game time.

im off to buy my game beer. everything else is in order; my lucky-hat: which “gives me particular insight into games”; my game-shirt: which protects the Longhorns from evil (sooners, aggies…etc) and my game jeans “generally comfortable jeans”

Scored with Gresham, had it called back by penalty, scored again with Iglesias. Scary good on the first drive.

WOW @ Alabama

How about Florida and possibly Georgia losing at home?

With this quality road win, I’m thinking Bama will jump over us, so this game wouldn’t affect our rankings.

who's over/underrated?

Is Georgia way overrated? I haven’t watched any of their games this year. Alabama, on the other hand, looks like one of the best teams in the country. I think it counts a lot for going into Athens and whipping the crap out of Georgia.

Bradford

I know we have talked about getting pressure on SB here being a key. Once TCU starting getting pressure on him the ou offense has slowed. He had to have a CB fall to get a big play late in the first half. He has been sacked 3 times so far and had only been once prior to this game. I hope he gets to have some break out sessions with Mr Rac and friends in two weeks.

I know the same can be said for Colt last year, but this year we have seen lots of GOOD Colt. I cannot wait.

WTF

What is K Durant doing at an ou game. I know he now has to live here, but to be caught on the field in hell (norman). Too bad he did not give the “correct” horns sign. Damn okies might not even know who he is anyway.

God I hate living in this shit hole of a state.

Fun to see Georgia try to rally here, but that FG all but ends it. I’ll hope for a chaotic finish nonetheless.
