Damn right I'm ready to see him.

After this eternal pre-game, I’m ready for any stray roadrunner.

Hoping USF and UCF goes to completion on time. Now USF 24-10 about to go into the fourth.

The last time we were here...

Was in 1994 or 95, in the “Sun Bowl” Bowl game? We played Mack Brown’s Tarheels and won a close one, if memory serves…

Boy how things have changed since then.

Radio says Norton will start at MLB.

Had a good week in practice.

Chykie starting again at CB.

Anyone else

a lil too drunk for the start of a Texas game? I’m already in 3rd Qtr. form.

by ctex80 on Sep 6, 2008 8:54 PM CDT reply actions

Actually...

I have already slept off my first drunk, did some yard work and am now starting on drunk number two. I like the late start.

Looking ahead

Hoggies down 27-21 early in the 4th . . . they trailed 24-6 in the third before rallying. That’s in LRock to La.-Monroe.

TD UTEP

Looks like the over is going to happen (60)

by goingforthecorner on Sep 6, 2008 10:54 PM CDT reply actions

Not necessarily

Let’s see what GD does with freshman RB’s, QB, WR’s and a makeshift line.

Too much time

We can’t get to the QB. Not a good sign.

Fricken fracken freshman!

Earl Thomas blew the assignment, it looked like, but Palmer also missed on the backside coverage, no?

As bad as the defense has been

that’s how good the offense has been

Cosby sure is having a great game, and I’m glad he’s getting some ink notice. I’d love to see him drafted.

WTF

Giving up before halftime? Muschamp better kick their asses. Hard.

we have to generate pass rush against

UTEP line with our D-line only…bringing safeties to pressure the qb…this is ridiculous

by hookemkp on Sep 6, 2008 11:00 PM CDT reply actions

Agreed. UTEP’s weak on the OL, so the ‘Horns’ DL ought to be able to get solid pressure without blitzers.

Tech’s finally in control against Nevada? Good. Looks like the conference could go 12-0 then. Hope to catch a replay of the 82yd. pass to Crabtree.

Tackling

Defense needs more tackling…get past the tackling dummies and figure out how to tackle live bodies.

buckner, williams....

its hilarious with their star roles…at what point does chiles become more than a cameo appearance?

and....

no turnovers in this game?

by UTrumbo on Sep 6, 2008 11:05 PM CDT reply actions

First Quarter

He needs to make 1st quarter adjustments. Didn’t Mack say they might have to make 1st quarter adjustments for the offense depending on what they see in coverage and blitzing? Seems like the defense needs to do the same. Problem is they’re getting burned at both the run and pass.

Defense needs to shut these guys down. Colt needs 2 more TD’s and get Chiles and Harris some playing time.

35-19 Tech

Looks like they’re going to cover the spread. Yay me!

by goingforthecorner on Sep 6, 2008 11:09 PM CDT reply actions

I just don't get the defensive effort tonight.

We’re just going through the motions. And Earl Thomas has got a lot to learn.

I'll never forget ol' what's-his-name.

SACKS

will be hard to come by in the Big 12. The big 12 throws short passes from the shotgun which gives the defense little chance of sacking the QB. UTEP is doing the same thing. Miller breaks through every play, but the pass plays are too quick.

Devon Kenard @ Game

I’m curious what kind of an impression this game is making on him. Maybe he’ll think he can come in and get some pt right away…

by andmyster on Sep 6, 2008 11:13 PM CDT reply actions

Yup

Rak and Melton are done after this year leaving Eddie Jones and Sam Acho. Hope he comes to UT.

Anyone know what’s the latest word on McFarland? If we can only pick up one more, I’d rather get a good DT.

All in all, not that bad, though. 13pts., but only one touchdown, which is decent. I don’t think they’re playing like garbage overall on defense, but I do understand the concern about their pulling up before the end of the half.

Davis must go!

I am not one for pouring it on a team, but this game is still semi close. Why does it seem when the Horns get what seems to be a comfortable lead, Davis goes and starts making extremely conservative plays, it is driving me insane. Thank god for some excellent D in the second half. This Longhorns second half offense is what makes me wonder if they are a team that can contend for a Big 12 championship, or if they are going to go 8-4. Finally a touchdown in the second half!

If you have a DVR

go back to 12:05 eastern time. They showed a buch of people hanging out on the rock watching the game and then they ciricled a couple. The guy was getting a hand job. I have gone back and even called my wife and a friend of ours into the room. It is a live teleprompter circled hand job.

If it were up to me, I'd blitz on offense too.

lol

I saw that too. Actually my wife noticed it. All i could say was… lucky him.
