Houston to play against Pigs
http://www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/fb-depth-chart.html
I have yet to read or listen to Mack Brown's press conference today. However, I did notice that Lamaar Houston is listed as the "or" co-starter at DT along with Aaron Lewis.
I'll admit, I'm a bit surprised to see Houston back so soon after last years guys (Melton and Sergio) received a 3 game suspension for what appears to be the same "crime". I suppose Houston's history of good behavior on and off the field and in the classroom was taken into consideration. I'm quite certain he has learned his lesson.
Of other note, the Sub B position is now listed with Malcolm Williams as the starter and Brandon Collins as his replacement.

age-based discipline?
I heard somewhere that the difference in “punishment” might be related to age. If Lamarr is 21, then he would be of legal drinking age, while last year Melton and Sergio might not have been 21 y.o. yet. I’m sure that someone can check into their DOB’s to see if this theory holds.

Ages
Melton was born in October of 1986, Sergio was September of 87.
If I remember right, their arrests were in the summer leading up to 2007, which would mean that Melton was still 20, and Sergio 19.
Houston was born in June of 87, which would mean he was 21.
So you may be on to the difference.

3 still possible
I was thinking maybe they will sit him out against inferior teams like Rice and Baylor? I hope not though. I think he learned his lesson.

Ehhhh....
that would be a PR nightmare. There’s a zero percent chance Mack would let Lamaar play against Arkie and then sit him against Rice and Baylor. That would be historically dumb.

yeah
1 it is! Hell yeah (let the judicial system do the dirty work)! It seems like the man learned his lesson though, and I respect him for how he handled the situation.

Inferior Teams*
Frankly, Rice is more intimidating to me than Piggy this year.

texas should roll over Arkansas
but they will play us tough. They have strong O- and D- lines (including a Rimington award winning center), and we struggled to physically dominate UTEP. Casey Dick is not a great QB, but he has been fairly efficient so far, and more importantly he has made some clutch plays that were not unimpressive. Plus, even though it was against lesser teams, they’re used to mounting 4th quarter comebacks at this point. A team like that is always dangerous. The line on the game is Arkansas +24, but I think it will be closer than that.
