A UT Athletics Travesty

UT Alum here. I paid out of state tuition to UT for 4 years and I attend 15+ sporting events a year. Bought tickets to tonight's game online and had two friends who are Air Force pilots drive up from San Antonio for the game. Low and behold we walk up to the Irwin Center tonight, tickets in hand, and we're turned away from the stadium because there is "no more room". How the F do you oversell a basketball game? We paid for parking, our tickets, only to be turned away by clueless ticket checkers who had nothing to say but, "I'm sorry" and "There's nothing we can do". There were lines of people at each gate with the same problem. What an embarassment and failure of the Athletics department and all involved. Someone needs to be fired.

Thats a bunch of crap, especially if those tickets weren’t general admission. They need to get that sorted out.

That's absolutely ridiculous...

…I thought UT Athletics made several errors tonight, which I’ll touch on in a post tomorrow. But none of them are anywhere on par with your experience.

I hope you get a refund, apology, and free tickets to another Saturday game…

General Admission

Has the policy of GA tickets always been to oversell? This isn’t a damn airline flight. We had reserved seats and got there just at tip, but I saw dozens and dozens of people walking away as we were walking in. Seems like people simply weren’t aware of this policy. Sad.
