LOL. “Outplayed.” No offense to Rice or Houston (I actually went to the Texas Bowl), but wins over Western Mich and Air Force are not nearly as hard to come by as wins over Minnesota, NW or Clemson.
I do hope Rice and Houston are on the up swing. I understand competing with UT, A&M, OU, and LSU for 5 star and the top 4 star recruits is difficult, but there is no way UH shoudn’t fill their roster with 3 star and lower 4 star recruits from Houston. There are just too many of them. They need to start recruiting them when they are in elementary and middle school. Kids need to start growing up wanting to be cougars (except for the ones that want to be Horns (there is probably a joke in that last sentence)). No 3 or 4 star kid should leave Houston to go play for freaking Mississippie or Arkansas or Oregon State.
How about that transferring RB that Rice picked up from Michigan?! Way to go for them. I know he was considering A&M, so Christine Michaels picking A&M probably helped them out a lot.
McGuffie’s headed to Rice? Good for both him and the Owls.
I do wish UT and the rest of the division would leave for a revamped SWC. Imagine roping Arkansas, LSU, TCU, Houston, Tulsa, and either Rice or Tulane to round out the twelve.

My understanding is that McGuffie may never play again – he had four concussions during the season this year. Obviously Rice is hoping he’ll play again because I can’t imagine McGuffie getting into Rice as a non-athlete.
Rivals certainly isn’t an infallible source, but has reported that he will play. The severity, not number, is the key factor in concussions, no?

Yeah, it was on the news here Tuesday or Monday.
That would be pretty awesome. I hate Arkansas though, so I’d prefer to leave them out.
That’s exactly why I’d want Arkansas in there. They’re one of my favorite teams to hate, which is really what makes college football fun.
