Sergio...and Whether he is leaving...
Ok...so Orangebloods.com has insight on Kindle's draft grade. Does anybody have an account to Orangebloods where they can get the scoop on what it was?? I would really hate to see such a wrecking force for our Defense bolt too early in his career. As was stated before by PB, He's still somewhat raw.
Please dear god somebody bring back some good news about Kindle NOT leaving for the NFL.
It's 11:26 in Georgia...and yup...OU Still Sucks!

Did you even read his question?
OP isn’t asking for old speculation, but for someone to explain OB’s current teaser, which advertises that “Kindle’s NFL evaluation grade is in – we have it.” That info isn’t in last week’s Kindle post.

Sergio
His grade came back as an early second rounder, but he has people in his ear telling him to go. Supposedly, his dad was pissed about his playing time in the Fiesta Bowl, but Sergio was OK with it because it was the game plan from the start. Chip Brown seems to think he is more than likely coming back.

Before the Fiesta Bowl, Orangebloods reported on Kindle. Muschamp met with Kindle and his family after the holidays and things went well. It was reported that there was a 60-40 chance Kindle would stay, pending NFL draft evaluations.

If Kindle goes, which is a legit possiblity
we lose a pass rusher. As a linebacker, eh Kindle was pretty decent. Muckelroy’s a better true linebacker. So as far as the LB corps I wouldn’t be too concerned with his departure. We have some talent in that area. Off the edge though he’s hard to replace, would’ve made up for some of Orakpo’s absence.

very much so agree
I think Keenan Robinson (who was in front of sergio early in summer workouts on the depth chart) can step in and fill in his linebacking role with little problem. The fact that most of the d-line moving on makes Sergio’s presence as a pash rusher quite important….

Grade according to OB is LATE Second Rounder
Not early second rounder.
And his dad is NOT one telling him to leave. It sounds like Muschamp has said if he comes back, he will not leave the field.
That is all from the OB article.

Possible 1st rounder?
Could Sergio possibly work out his way into the first round? His skills are still raw, but his athletic ability is off the charts. Could he, after NFL scouts seeing him in workouts, jump to the first round because of his potential?
I know he could possibly be a top-10 nfl pick next year if he continues his growth as a pass rusher, but could he work out and then get re-graded?

Bad Year for Sergio to Come Out - He would pull a "Jamal Charles"
This is the wrong year for Kindle to come out. The problem for him is that very few teams draft LBs in the first round. You are looking at 2-3 tops. Then you throw in those freaks from USC (Maleuga and Cushing), a sprinkle of Laurenitis – and you get a bad decision by Sergio. He could easily slip to 3rd round.
His overwhelming limitor is those can do it at the combine and have plenty of tape of having huge impacts on the game against top level competition. Sergio needs to be as disruptive as RAK to get in the first round. The best way to do that is return, dominate, and become a first team all american.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kindle go before Laurenitis if he leaves.

Laurenitus is pretty good
although not the all-world player the media makes him out to be.

I am glad to hear that he might be a late draftee
Kindle could very well be as disruptive as RAK… but again…He needs to come back. One more year in a weight room with MAD DOG, and that kid is gonna be a bigger beast then he already is.
Hopefully Muschamp seriously has talked him out of leaving…

Is he supposed to play in the "Buck" position next fall or more as a traditional OLB?
Has he completely given up on pass coverage in favor of pass-rushing?
I’m not complaining.
What position would he be listed as on the depth chart?

I would guess “quick” end, but I don’t think it would mean much. I’ll bet he’s still in a three-point stance for most passing downs, and two-point on base set downs.
I have to admit that I’m a little sad Melton didn’t redshirt last season when he was transitioning to full-time defense. It’d be nice to have him returning next season. So what are the guesses on the base and nickel defenses?
