Well played PB

45-35 will live on in infamy. Or at leastt until October. Then we get to have 77-0.

Bowl Record

The looners has 2-4 bowl record since 2000… They have lost 4 in a row since 2003 and two of them were MNC. If they get trounce by the Gators tonight, they have lost 5 straight bowl games in a row and three of them are MNC. I wonder if BCS committee would still want to have them to appear on MNC anymore.

It’s 5:52pm and OU STILL SUCKS!!!

I know we're all supposed to hate OU...

and I do. But isn’t anyone else so tired of the SEC hype? I’m kind of indifferent, if not hoping that OU barely pulls it out, just so the asshole on CBS will shut up.

I'm going over to some old friend for the game.

For what it’s worth, today I asked everyone I saw who they were going to root for. Not a single person said OU. Some of these were not Texas fans at all. Omen? Dunno, but it made me warm and happy.

See y’all at the end of the thread.

Give ’em hell.

It’s 6:41 and OU still sucks and will for all eternity.

Hook ’em.

OU Sucks!!!!

I hate hearing all the hype about the SEC and how great tebow is because he cut foreskin off children during his spring break…..but nothing can annoy me more than Oklahoma and the thought of them winning a national championship…

Let me throw out this Reverse Psychology Karma

I’ve been nervous all week reading about the parties that will commence across Burnt Orange Nation when the Sooners lose their 4th straight BCS game, etc. And the ESPN polling shows that something like 46 states favor the Gators.

Considering our 90% and Tech’s 90% in those very same polls, and considering what happened to Bama, I dearly hope we don’t see a Sooner surprise tonight.

Perhaps now that it has been written, the demons will have been exercised.

by BrooklynHorn on Jan 8, 2009 7:06 PM CST reply actions

believe in the curse of the Heisman

And that Karma will get our back for how we have been wronged. Or hell, just believe what you’ve seen all year, which is OU’s horrible special teams, and watch it come back to bite them in the ass.

So now the Big 12 and hopefully voters will realize they sent the wrong team to the NC....

So here’s the deal. Being able to win games by building a big lead at halftime is one thing. Dealing with adversity when things don’t go your way, or you run into a team that is motivated, prepared and as or more athletic than yours, and you can’t win by 60, you wind up losing because you HAVEN’T HAD THE EXPERIENCE IN HOW TO WIN CLOSE BALLGAMES!

This is the thing that the SCREWED UP Voters don’t realize about head to head and style points. Jimmy and Barry now get to explain why Chokelahoma didn’t hang 60 on Florida. It’s the same reason they didn’t hang 60 on UT. They ran into a team that could deal with adversity, and deal with them.

I am now a changed man. I used to get Pissed because UT never seems to dominate like OU has, and I admittedly fell into the style points trap.

Guess what? Winning Beats Style points!!!!

Screw Switzer!

If all three quarterbacks come back does he really think that Tebow would be matched against OU again? Based on recent history, it’s more likely to be McCoy vs. Tebow!!!

by utexas87 on Jan 8, 2009 11:13 PM CST reply actions

Here's what's killin' me now...

Ohio State loses to USC early without Beanie Wells…they play Penn State close with a True Freshman QB who’s got less than 5 games experience…but, they get no credit for being an improved team between the Penn St. game and the Fiesta Bowl…meanwhile (and ironically), USC gets credit for their “Blowout” win vs. Ohio St., plus a very strong win at the Rose Bowl over Penn St. to possibly claim some #1 votes…

Oklahoma loses to us 45-35 on a neutral field, but it doesn’t matter at the end of the season since OU got “style” points for laying 60+ points on everyone after the RRR…they get credit for “being a better team since the Texas game”. And the Human Voters vault them into the Big 12 Championship and MNC Game…

Texas then defeats Ohio St. in thrilling fashion in the Fiesta Bowl – however, it’s not a “good” win. Why? Because it was over the Ohio St. team that lost 35-3 to USC (and, btw, lost in the last two MNC games), not the Ohio St. team that played Penn St. close and showed improvement the rest of the year.

All depends on your pespective or agenda, I guess…

At least at the end of the day, we represented the Big 12 South!

Lots of cussin’ & discussin’ on Big 12 vs. SEC vs. Big 10 (and throw in Utah) over the next few weeks…
