Early Enrollment Of 09 Recruits
Does anyone know how many of our 2009 recruits have enrolled for this semester?
Since most people think that Whaley will be a prominent part of our offense next year it would be nice to have him working with Major now.
We have two TEs comeing in to help with our lack of depth at that position. It would be nice to get them an early jump on thier fundamentals.Who knows if Irby will come back from his terrible injujry. If he doesn't the cupboard is awful empty at the position.
Although Palmer was our only loss in the starting defensive backfield it would help to get these young men acclimated to our system.
Linebacker Taj Allen showed lots of physical abilities in the all-star game last week but he looks like he could use some polish.
Last but not least the more work Gilbert can get with Colt,Major and Davis will be especially beneficial for him.If we believe the lack of playing time Sherod Harris got this year Gilbert might end up as our backup QB.
Granted it would be nice to have all twenty of them in early but that never seems to happen.

I think all 4 of these guys, if they can make it here in the Spring, will be contributing in the fall.

Mason Walters
is going to be great at UT. I think the 2nd teamers will play A LOT next year because Texas will have such big leads in the 2nd half.
Will Mason Walters or Tray Allen be the next LT, or will the coaches move the RT to LT?

true freshman rarely start their first year, especially at OLine.. look at tray allen, he was a bigger prospect than either mason or thomas and he’s still struggling to find his minutes and groove.
i dont know that texas will burn mason or thomas’ redshirts next year, i dont know that we need them just yet.

Mason Walters
I think Walters will be the nest LT.
I think one of the reason’s Allen is struggling is because he is playing out of position. Justin Blaylock did fine, but I think Allen projects as a guard and could be a dominant guard, but playing at OT has not been great at this level.

Walters won’t start at LT next year. Ulatoski will return, I’m sure, despite being 23 right now.

Follow-up
Whoo, I see you guys weren’t necessarily talking about NEXT season. Anyway, what about McCaskey? No good?
