Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

10 POINTS

Texas beat ou on a neutral field by 10 points, and Florida beat ou by 10 points on a neutral field. The BCS put ou in because of their margin of victory against opponents, so what the hell!?

Tim Tebow won't play QB in the NFL, he can't throw very good at all. I think he's a future FB or TE.

Sam Bradford definitly isn't the best player in college football. He isn't even the best player on ou (I'll take the TE). I hope he comes back to play next year behind a young OL and with young WR's, we'll see how great Bradford is next year.

When people talk about Texas having a "gimmicky offense", they need to mention Florida before they talk about any teams offense. What a goofy offense!

Percy Havin reminds me of Romance Taylor back in 2005. I think Texas needs to find a player that can play that role again.

I hear people saying Tim Tebow is the greatest player in college football history. I think VY is a better runner and passer than him, and he played great in big games as well. Tim Tebow's numbers look better because he isn't good enough to play in the NFL.

2009 top 5:

1) Florida (if Tebow comes back)

2) Texas (if McCoy comes back)

3) USC

4) Ohio State

5) ou

Honorable Mentions: LSU, Penn State

I think you’re being a little too generous with OU’s ranking next year. I expect them to start out ranked somewhere between 13th and 8th and end up ranked 20th or so, following losses to UT, Tech, and some random other team. They’re losing way, way too much, even if Bradford comes back (he would be stupid to do so)

Hazle

played well against TT last year when Bradford got hurt. I don’t think there is going to be a huge fall off at the QB position for ou, but the OL and WR losses will hurt them. ou has great athletes to fill in for their losses. I think they will lose 3 games next year against Texas, TT, and OSU (definitly Texas).

If Bradford returns

then ou will probably be ranked in the preseason top 5. However, there is no way that they finish there. National media types routinely overvalue the skill position players and undervalue the guys in the trenches. ou is basically losing its entire o-line.

Bradford struggled in 2 games this year – UT and UF. No surprise that they were the only 2 teams to pressure him. With a very young o-line, Bradford is going to be pressured often. ou will drop at least 3 games next year – to UT, OSU, plus at least one more.

Tim Tebow, the best?

peoples reasoning for this:
2 National titles + a Heisman

Well be this logic Matt Leinart could arguably be the best. HA!

so is the stage set for another UT v. USC Rosebowl?

because we know USC ALWAYS get to play in the Rosebowl, even if they loose to an unranked team every year…I’d relish this rematch and a chance to take USC down another peg, again!!!

we have alot of work to do but I think we can totally do it…how long untl Spring Drills?

USC

might play in the Rose Bowl, but it probably won’t be for the national championship.

"Tim Tebow's numbers look better because he isn't good enough to play in the NFL."

what does that mean exactly?

LSU/tOSU in the top 5 next year is pushing it (no Wells for tOSU next year), and I didn’t see anything from LSU.

Time for a playoff.

OSU

has a TON of talent, and they play in a crappy conference. LSU looked great in their bowl game, and gets Russel Sheppard at QB.
