Oklahoma Depth Chart
Some interesting notes:
-Chiles is now listed as "OR" with Marquise Goodwin at the Sub B. Malcolm Williams is now 3rd string.
-David Snow is starting in place of Michael Huey.
-Fozzy is listed first for RBs in a list that does NOT include either Trey Newton or Vondrell McGee. This could be interesting for the OU game considering the staff feels Newton and McGee were the best pass blocking backs available.
Thoughts?

Kickoff returns
glad to see Monroe and Goodwin paired together back there. Seemed Colorado made a point to kick it away from D.J. last week and make Shipley the returner. Pick your poison with those two.

I'm very disappointed
in Huey . . . in Malcolm Williams . . . in Beasley (he’s still not listed in the depth chart).
LB depth continues to make me squirm. CB is the same.
Dunno what to make of the RBs — maybe we just chuck it 65 times and hope Colt has a game for the ages.
OU sux.

Punter
John Gold is now on the left side of the OR. Has Tucker made one too many mistakes as of Saturday?

Glad to see changes are being made
Both are great punters with different styles
But it seems like the time to use Tucker is when the offense stalls around midfield and Tucker can try to punt it out of bounds inside the 20
so why was Tucker punting from our own 20? Gold should have been in the game
he had a GREAT year last year but Tucker is just OFF this year…we just can’t afford 5 yd punts or any mishaps in the punting game vs OU, sorry Justin

Doesn't matter
who is listed at RB – if the O-line doesn’t start imposing their will, there will be no running game.
McCoy has to become a running threat again, PERIOD. Notice I didn’t say the ONLY running threat – he needs to be ONE of the options. He’s a dangerous, speedy runner and Davis needs to allow McCoy the option of running.

Great Point
Prolly the biggest single thing we can do to improve the offense vs. OU is to turn Colt loose.

McGee and Tre
Evidently Tre had a minor concussion early in the Colorado game, which stinks because he has been our best back by far this season.
McGee got banged up as well and I doubt we see either of them this week.
Should be fun seeing Fozzy though, as he is averaging 10 yards a cary
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.

blessing in disguise?
Fozzy is the optimal choice for this travesty that we call a running game. If there’s going to be zero to no holes against some of the worst run defenses in the league, you need a running back that can break tackles. Thus, forcing Davis to rely on Fozzy by default may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Conversely, if Davis is being truthful about wanting to pass, pass, pass, I shudder to think about Fozzy back there performing blitz pick-up. I’d much rather see Newton (or even McGee) taking on a blitzing Clayton or Lewis. Also problematic is we’ve got no idea if Fozzy can carry the ball 20-25 times. What happens if (when?) we get that second half lead and need to pound the ball into submission? Pipe dreams, I know.

Hmmmm.... there is some interesting stuff here
Chiles is now listed as “OR” with Marquise Goodwin at the Sub B. Malcolm Williams is now 3rd string.
Does this indicate that maybe there’s going to be not as much WildHorn? I saw Goodwin go in at some point during the Colorado game and was trying to figure out whose place he took. Maybe it was Chiles.
-David Snow is starting in place of Michael Huey.
I know there’s a lot of love for Snow, is this switch because of our failed run blocking? Or maybe an injury?
-Fozzy is listed first for RBs in a list that does NOT include either Trey Newton or Vondrell McGee. This could be interesting for the OU game considering the staff feels Newton and McGee were the best pass blocking backs available.
Newton/McGee injured for OU…. I’m glad we’ve got a “stable” of running backs. I’m guessing we’ll see some DJ monroe as well.

Chris Og-banana
was huge in the RRS last year. Who’s going to take his place?

have our running backs caught any passes out of the backfield this year?
chris was great at that last year.

Last year I was humming the Ogbonnaya Chorus for a week after the RRS. Fozzy’s name doesn’t have the right number of syllables, so I’m not terribly optimistic right now.

Here ya go
Doesn’t say whether they will play on Saturday, but both did suffer knee injuries, both of which on replay looked quite painful. Carter and Simmons were starters for the Baylor game at FS and LG respectively.

Mason Walters
What happened to the stud freshman? He played, got hurt, then disappeared…..

Also
Anyone have news on Vaccaro? Does he still have a “hurt knee” or is that whole thing cleared up in time for the OU game?

Could they redshirt Walters?
We may need the depth now, but he’s missed several games. I see him as an emerging leader for this team. We need a future huge lineman with attitude. I like his swagger. I think it fits really well with the type of player Espinosa is as well. We need the big, nasty, and tough O-line for the future.
