Lombardi Award Semis
Of course, no Sergio. And no Muckelroy either. I can understand those, because Sergio's numerous QB pressures and QB hits aren't as visible as his lack of actual sacks, and Muck's a middle linebacker, so he's less likely to get Lombardi attention than Butkus attention.
The one that gets me is Sam Acho. If anyone on the Texas line deserved to be a semifinalist, I'd say it's Acho. Even just his stats should make him a no-brainer:
18 tackles (14 solo)
7 TFL for 42yds. lost
5.0 sacks
2 pass breakups
5 QB pressures
4, yes, FOUR fumble recoveries
So...snub or not?

If the awards start cutting names this early
We’re going to pay for our weak early scheduling. Though I agree, Sam has done more than enough to be on the semis list. The only thing he hasn’t done, probably, is to be on the watch list.

We have a chance to shame this list.
Sam, Sergio, Houston, and Muck need to dominate from here on out and totally shame this list. The Lombardi Award Semi’s are like the Nobel Peace Prize. Shame on you for not recognizing even one payer on the #2 defense in the nation, especially when one of those players leads the nation in fumble recoveries. Tells me we need to kick some serious…………i’ll forego the rant. Just get ’er done D. Tackle sooners with violence and make a statement on every hit.

I’m not sure exactly how the Lombardi is anything like the Nobel Peace Prize.

I guess I just don’t see the parallel. How many premature nominations in the history of the Nobel Peace Prize do you maintain have been made?
